Does Mankind Have a Spirit?

Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. (Job 10:12)

But there is a spiritin man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. (Job

32:8)

For I am full of matter, the spiritwithin me constraineth me. (Job 32:18)

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, !ehovah "od of truth. (Psalm31:5)

#ho $noweth the spiritof man that goeth upward, and the spiritof the %east that goethdownward to the earth& (Ecclesiastes 3:21)

There is no man that hath power over the spiritto retain the spirit' neither hath he power in theday of death: and there is no discharge in that war' neither shall wic$edness deliver those that are

given to it. (Ecclesiastes 8:8)

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spiritshall return unto "od who gave it.

The spirititself %eareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of "od: (!oma"s 8:16)

For %y one spiritare we all %apti-ed into one %ody, whether we %e !ews or "entiles, whether we

%e %ond or free' and have %een all made to drin$ into one spirit. (1 #ori"thia"s 12:13)

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the *ord from heaven. As is the earthy,

such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.And as we have %orne the image of the earthy, we shall also %ear the image of the heavenly. (1

But we all, with open face %eholding as in a glass the glory of the *ord, are changed into the

same image from glory to glory, even as %y the spiritof the *ord. (2 #ori"thia"s 3:18)

Brethren, the grace of our *ord !esus hrist %e with your spirit. Amen. (&alatia"s 6:18)

There is one %ody, and one spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling' (E'hesia"s$:$)
