It has several unique features which can save operational:time, cost and improve HSE for the users. The HD basket features: Safe use of equipment: Approved by DNV9GL according to 297.3 Subsea R30. A:frame: The single point lift will always be above the seabed and will improve the overall visibility during seabed:operation. High tare weigh: Basket is 12,9 T, this enables the basket to be launched in severe weather (3,0m HS or above if calculated acc.to DNV:RP:H103 chapter 4: Lifting through Wave Zone – Simplified Method). Chain collectors: The chain collectors will collect the chain and there is no need for the ROV to move any chains. Doors: The ROV operated doors are in place to ensure that HSE regulations are followed when working inside the basket on deck and it also allows the ROV to open the doors subsea if nessesary (e.g. the basket is used as a base for a winch). ROV handles: Enables the ROV to operate from all sides of the basket by use of the ROV handles. The thick steel bottom frame: Allows the users to weld their on:site equipment onto the basket. This gives the basket a versatility like no other. D:rings: Internal 8T D:rings eases the sea:fastening of cargo. Removable grating: Allows the users to carry longer or wider items. ISO corners: Allows the basket to be secured to standarized mechanisms on vessels and lorries. Standard measurments: Allows the basket to be transported with a normal lorry (Norwegian regulations).

2.2.2 HANDLING AND TRANSPORTATION

CAUTION: o Due to the baskets weight special considerations needs to be made in regards to

racking the basket.

WARNING: o Always use certified sling when lifting the basket. Use dedicated lifting point when

mounting sling and check that sling has been certified in the last 12 months. o Plan lifting operation, and ensure that the area is secured before proceeding with

any lifts. o Pay attention during lifting operation and do not stand beneath the lifted item. o If A-frame is used: Stay clear of it until it is fully landed to avoid pinch points. o Always secure the doors when using these onboard a vessel. Subsea operation

NOTE: o Due to the weight of the basket it may penetrate the seabed. Evaluate landing site

before starting the lift.

2.2.3 MAINTENANCE NOTE: o Check Safety data sheet if using chemicals to lubricate hinges. Use correct PPE.

3 TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND DATA

3.1 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

3.1.1 NEXUM HD BASKET Subsea basket is designed to deploy and recover items to and from the seabed. The intention of the A-frame is to keep the lifting point above the seabed and to save operational time when landing the basket on the seabed. The two doors will maintain a good HSE record when entering the basket on deck. Subsea basket is also designed so that it can be used as a clump-weight or as a landing base for cable-drums.

8 OPERATIONS

8.1 OPERATIONAL LIMITATIONS Offshore lift: (Definition: Offshore lift is defined as a lift between vessel to vessel/rig or vice versa.) Offshore lift is regulated by its DNV class and is according to the certificate 3,0m HS (R30). Subsea operation: (Definition: Subsea operation is defined as a lift between vessel and seabed or subsea structures.) The operational limitation needs to be calculated using DNV-RP-H103 chapter 4: Lifting through Wave Zone – Simplified Method. If calculations according to DNV-RP-H103 are not performed then the operational-limit is set to 3,0m HS.

8.2 SECURING CARGO INSIDE BASKET The basket is fitted with D-rings inside to secure items transported within the basket. These D-rings can be used either with cargo straps or chain. For special requirements it is also possible to weld into the basket beams centre beams. Use doors to enter the basket to prevent climbing.

8.3 OPERATING DOORS The two doors on the basket is double securing method. This can be done either topside or subsea. To open the doors:

- Lift the handle on the horizontal lock and push the locking pin to the side away from the other door.

- Lift the vertical lock and open the door. Please note that the doors can swing in rough weather and should always be secured in open position.

To close the doors: - Make sure nothing gets snagged when closing the door before pushing it closed. The

vertical lock should automatically lift it self. If not lift lock and close door. - Lift the handle on the horizontal lock and push the locking pin towards the centre of the

two doors.
