ABSTRACTThe adult education directory was prepared for three
purposes: as a guide for counselors and adult students who wish toknow what courses are available in Tanzania to meet their specialinterests and needs; to inform adult educators of the presentprovisions and fields of study covered by existing organizations; andto offer information on the teaching facilities and accommodationsavailable at centers throughout the country for holding courses andseminars. Courses not open to the general public and organizationsoffering only occasional and informal adult educational activitieswere excluded from the directory. The directory lists the addressesand aims of 90 educational institutions, gives details of the classesoffered (type of course, subject, duration, and fees), studenteligibility requirements, facilities available (libraries,classrooms, meeting rooms, etc.), other activities of theinstitution, and in some cases information about examinations andcertificates.
