Book Ordering
The publisher or supplier is given for all material listed in the
Bulletin, and in the interest of speed and efficiency, those wishing to
obtain copies are advised to order direct from the individual publishers,
or their ical booksellers. It is not possible for the IPPF headquarters to
deal with orders for material, other .than IPPF publications.
Decimalisation of British Currency
On February 15th 1971, British currency was converted to decimal
units. The pound ster11,-ig (E) is divided into 100 parts known as
'new pence' (p) individually having a value of 2.5 'old' pence (d). The
changeover will cause some complications in internal transactions for
a short: while and the following emarks are only to guide our readers.
This and all subsequent issues of the Library Bulletin will quote the new
decimal prices only.
For banking and accounting purposes the new ip will be left out,
using an official rounding table which has the force of law. The Library
Bulletin will give the price actually quoted by the publisher. Eventually
all prices for books and all other commodities will be in whole new pence
and this discrepency will disappear.
Note that: £0.52i may be seen elsewhere as 52ip;
also no more than two decimal places are used, i.e. 52ip is never
£0.525. £0.521 should appear as £0.53 on cheques etc.
