The shop opened in 2008 and o}ers high-end boats for extreme water sports. It features a pro shop and a full-service repair center. “We are one of the only places in the country that carry both Mastercraft and Nautique, which are your No. 1- and No. 2-ranked boat [brands],” General Manager Josh Walker said. “It’s like if a car dealership were selling both BMW and Mercedes.” The pro shop is a certied dealer of water sport brands Ronix and Phase 5 and o}ers wakeboards, boots and water skis as well as life jackets, wakeropes and handles. Customers who purchase a boat at the business can participate in its mobile maintenance service program. Walker said a service van will go to customers’ homes and provide boat maintenance services on their dock rather than owners having to drop o} their boat at the shop and wait until the boats are repaired.

Montgomery shop showcases water sports

Dockside Marine has met the needs of local water sports enthusiasts in Montgomery for eightyears.

Dockside Marine will perform full-service repair anddetailing on all inboard ski and wake boats, but will onlyrepair Mercury engines or Mercruiser sterndrive brandmotors, Walker said.

Originally from central Texas, Walker joined the DocksideMarine team in 2009 and has been working in the boatingbusiness for 10 years.

Walker said he grew up wakeboarding and water skiing andis glad he is able to do the same with his family.

“What I love most about boating is the family time,”Walker said. “I have good memories of being on the water,so I enjoy getting out there with my kids and seeing themhave fun.”

Dockside recently purchased an acre of land behind itsproperty to make room for a larger inventory. AlthoughWalker would love to expand more, he said the shop isdoing well for now.

“We are always looking to expand,” Walker said. “For nowwe bought more land in the back, but we are doing good fornow.”

Since 2013, Dockside Marine has been ranked in BoatingIndustry’s Top 100 Dealers in the U.S., making the shop theonly inboard shop in the Greater Houston area to earn sucha ranking, Walker said.
