Summary: normative text changes in 0842-03 vs 0842-04 (Timing Measurement)

• Clause 7.4.11.23:– Added Timestamp Difference StdDev to the Timing Measurement action frame in 7.4.11.23 (figure v100 and in

the description that follows). This is to keep track of variations in the time it takes to send a frame and receive the corresponding ACK.

– Cleaned up the description of what fields are present in the Timing Measurement action frame and when. Specifically removed discussion on Rx Time as it is not relevant in describing the frame format.

– Tightened up the definition of Tx Time – to be time at which the energy corresponding to the start of the preamble for the frame is seen at the medium (air interface)

• Clause 10.3.51:– Tightened the definition of times t1, t2, t3 and t4 in figure v104. See the expanded Note.– Added missing parameters (and corresponding descriptions) to Request, Confirm and Indication primitives.

• Clause 11.20.6:– Cleaned up figure V114 and removed redundant duplicate definitions of t2, t3 and t4– Added the formula to estimate offset– Added text to discuss what happens if ACKs are lost

• Clause 14 through 20:– Replaced tactual with “Time of Arrival Timestamp” to match the description in RXVECTOR.

• Annex-D– Added a MIB variable to define the constant offset from when PMD_TXSTART is stamped and when the

actual preamble starts (dot11MgmtToDOffsettoPreamble)– Cleaned descriptions of dot11MgmtOptionToDConstantInterval1, dot11MgmtOptionToDConstantInterval2 and

dot11MgmtOptionRxTimeConstantInterval
