Need Help? 2-1-1 is Your Community Resource When You Need Help. On Long Island, United Way’s 2-1-1 Call Center was the answer for many. Taking in over 9,900 calls during Hurricane Sandy, we were able to keep services running with the most up-to-date information throughout the weeks after the storm. 2-1-1 had trained staff and over 100 volunteers working around the clock so that everyone who called seeking food, shelter, or other services, could get the help they needed. If you need help, please call 2-1-1. Disaster Case Managers will provide individual assistance to connect you to public and private systems to help resolve your disaster related issues. They will help assess your needs, develop individual recovery plans, and walk with you on your journey toward renewed stability. No Fema registration required.
