You have the rest of this lesson and the Easter holidays to design your very own zoo!

You can also use the LRC after school!

You have one sheet of A4 square dotty paper to design your zoo plan on. The solid black line around the outside is the border of your zoo and you must not go outside of this!

You may also wish to produce a 3D model of your zoo once your plan is complete (optional)

As well as your ground plan you also have a set of instructions that clearly state what must be included and what is optional.

You will lose marks if you don’t include something you should or if you don’t follow the instructions properly.

e.g: Entrance Kiosk must be 4 squares and a ‘perfect square’. It must also border your car park

The top three from each class will go through to a final judging where twelve will be chosen as winners!

For those doing the higher project…

Not only must you design your zoo, you must also work out the weekly income your zoo generates.

Read the information carefully. It tells you how much something costs as well as how much income it makes.

You have a table to fill in to help you work out your total weekly income. Remember any money left over from your original £42,000 may be added to your total.

Note: When working out the income for the animal enclosures by counting viewing points you must not include corners but can count the same square twice for different enclosures.
