When: Wednesday 27th February 2013 from 12pm-8pmWhere: City West Campus

In 2013, UniSA will host the first ever Gear Up event - a music & arts festival for ALL UniSA students! Join us for the biggest party of the year to welcome all new students and welcome back continuing students to UniSA.

What's happening on the day?Two stages with around 20 performers, including national headliners and a great selection of Adelaide bands, and a huge variety of food and drink vendors.Our talented art students & graduates will decorate the campus with chalk art, graffiti art, and artistic installations. Clubs & societies will also be on campus to entertain with pop-up performances.UniSA students can enter several exciting competitions including a meet & greet with the headline act, free band merchandise, or even a prize to watch the main-act from the stage sidelines.

Whose invited and what does it cost?FREE for all UniSA students and staff! The event is open for anyone else at a cost of $30 (tickets through Fringe-Tix). Gear Up is an all-ages show, however, alcohol will be served at the event (minors will be strictly monitored).

Criminal History Screening

ALL students who will be completing a professional experience placement or carrying out educational activities with minors MUST have a Criminal History Screening clearance. With your letter of acceptance and in your pre-enrolment sessions you would have received information regarding this.You need to prioritise submitting your Criminal History Screening application as

UniSA cannot begin to place you in sites without a Criminal History Screening clearance.

Preference will be given to those with this documentation completed. The screening process is undertaken by Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI).

UniSA will only accept this form of clearance.

Gather all your relevant 100 point identification documentation and take to a responsible person in the requesting organisation, a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for taking Affidavits (Solicitor, Barrister or Proclaimed Police Officer) for certification.

Go to any Australia Post outlet within South Australia to submit your Criminal History application

Fee Charged : $42.40 payable on application submission

An introduction session (Promoting Safety and Wellbeing: and induction for tertiary students) will be a requirement before your first placement in a site/school. This will be completed in your first professional experience course.

All preservice teachers will complete this one day course in their final year of their program before their final placement.

The Construction Industry Training Board Design and Technology scholarship http://www.citb.org.au/  The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Design and Technology Scholarships will provide funds to assist students with the cost of the student contribution amount for a Commonwealth supported place during the third and fourth year of the degree of Bachelor of Education (Design and Technology Education) at UniSA. The call for applications will be during November of the 2nd year of the program. The value of the scholarship is 100% of the HECS payments for the third and fourth year of full-time study in the degree. Eligibility:D&T students in their second year of study Applications Close beginning of November each year.
