Summery At the beginning of the film we see a shot that is

from a helicopter and shows us the landscape of San Diego.

We hear a voice over as well which has a deep comical voice, it is introducing the film as a whole and Ron Burgundy.

It then cuts to a shot of Ron in the news room and this is the first time we are introduced to him, his outfit is dated and flashy, we see him look into a mirror and say “I look good, don’t I?”

This help to set him up as the main character and someone that is quite self for filled.

Then we see the same sort of cuts for the other three main characters.

And it cuts to the main title.

Camera techniques and effects The shot from the helicopter is clearly a

high angle shot this helps set the scene and it also suggest that what we are going to see next is going to be big if they have a helicopter introducing the person, it is possible they are being flown in my helicopter.

Then the shots introducing each person is a medium shot because we generally see them behind the news desk, however there is one medium long shot because they other news man is sitting on the desk so they go out to feet him in better.

They use titles across each character and also before this the main titles and the director when they are flying in.

Sound We get the sound of the helicopter

which immediately tells us where we are There is some music playing quietly in

the background which sounds a bit comical because its clear its leading up to something and with the voice over, on top you cant take it seriously and your not meant to but it works well together.

Genre Anchorman is a comedy We get this impression straight away

with the voice over and the way they try to make it sound so serious but at the same time we know its not

I like the way that works and it sets the film up well

Also when they introduce the characters they make them also look serious but there is something about them that means we cant take them seriously.

Audience I would say the suitable audience for

this film would be teenagers up to young adults

Also more at men than women because it has a lot of boy humour in it and content along that line mostly men would find funnier.

Ideas it gave me for our opening sequence The way we introduced our

characters is similar because we did it in shots with a voice over and titles much the same

Also our comedy is similar to Anchorman because our characters are being serious about the dance competition but with the voice over and the music along side it, also the “dancing” lets the audience know that this a light hearted opening.
