About our Course

Who is our course for? >

These English courses for adults are aimed at people from around the world aged 18 years or older

who wish to prepare for Cambridge Exams (eg. FCE, CAE).

What are the course options? >

Whatever course you choose, our teachers are going to help you to achieve the goals you have set for

your stay in Ireland:

Certificate in Advanced English (Code: CAE-DL) >

CAE Exam English classes provide students with 3 or 6 hours classes each week giving them the

opportunity to review their existing language skills; acquire new ones; practise everything they have

learnt; and successfully communicate in English.

3 or 6 hours per week

Monday and/or Wednesday 18:45-21:45

Maximum 8 students per class. Average of 6 students per class

Teachers experienced and qualified to Irish Department of Education standards

The classes cover the four main parts of the Cambridge exams: Reading with Use of English

(Grammar), Listening, Speaking, and Writing. Students prepare by extending their Vocabulary

and Grammar, while practicing exam taking strategies.

Classes include a short break when coffee, tea and soft-drinks are available.

Classes are also open to those who do not wish to sit the exams but want to improve their

English.

First Certificate in English (Code: FCE-DL) >

FCE Exam English classes provide students with 3 or 6 hours classes each week giving them the

opportunity to review their existing language skills; acquire new ones; practise everything they have

learnt; and successfully communicate in English.

Tuesday and/or Thursday 18:45-21:45



The classes cover the four main parts of the Cambridge exams: Reading with Use of English

Balanced mix of general English language topics (grammar, idioms, structures etc) and

communication skills (speaking, writing etc) with a strong focus on 'speaking'.


We have genuinely small class sizes ? >

On our standard and intensive courses, we offer

average class sizes of 6 students per class

with maximum class sizes of 8 students per class.

*Most language schools have maximum class sizes of at least 12-15 students per class.

*All of our courses, except for private 1-1 classes, will have a minimum class size of 4 students per

class. If there are less than 4 students in any class, we will provide a more intensive alternative class.

What is the aim of the course ? >

We focus on getting students to communicate effectively in English and to successfully pass their

Cambridge Exams.

What about the teachers ? >

All teachers are experienced teachers of English as a foreign language and are qualified to Irish

department of Education standards. They are dedicated teachers - dedicated to helping you to

communicate effectively in English and to achieve the goals you set for the course.

We provide a very responsive and personal service >

Before arrival:

we will test your English knowledge with an online test

On arrival:

your speaking ability will be assessed and we will place you in a class based on that assessment

and your online test

During the course:

we will have a Director of Studies available so that you can talk about your progress and ask for

any other information you require during your course;

At the end of the course:

we will provide you with an end-of-course certificate with recommendations for further study.

Well qualified and experienced English teachers

Students can begin these courses at any time during the year and can continue with the course as long as they want or need. The shortest period is for 4 weeks but we recommend at least 12 weeks for students who wish to sit a Cambridge exam. Students only have to pay for 4 weeks at any time - so if you want to continue at the end of 4 weeks, you just pay for the next 4 weeks.

Curriculum

We strongly believe that being able to communicate effectively is most important in your language

learning journey. Our curriculum is built around the most important functions of the language to help

you achieve that. We also believe that not only knowledge of Exam taking strategies will help you

succeed but also continual work on new Vocabulary and Grammar items.

This course takes place in our main office on the

main street of Dun Laoghaire.

Our location: has excellent transport links so Dublin city

centre is less than 30 minutes away

getting to Dun Laoghaire is easy by DART ( to

Dun Laoghaire DART station then 7 minute

walk) or by the following buses: 7, 7a, 45a,

46a, 59, 63, 75

it is a very safe and upmarket part of the city

so you don't have to worry about being out at

night. The centre of Dun Laoghaire has the size and atmosphere of a large village and yet it has all the amenities of medium-sized town with shopping centres, cinema, cafes, library etc

it is a very beautiful and picturesque area - beside the sea, with a marina and little villages that

look like you are far away from the city

Course centre is conveniently located near the dart station and all bus stops.

The classroom is fully-equipped and with wifi.

Booking Process & Payment Details >

1. Request a booking form from [email protected], sign it and send us by email a scanned signed copy.

2. You will receive a confirmation of acceptance and an invoice.

3. Registration fee and at least 25% of course fee must be paid within 3 days of invoice in order to

reserve place.

4. All fees must be paid before course start.

5. Payment can be made by Bank Transfer to the bank details on the booking form. If you are

making a Bank Transfers from outside the Eurozone, you must include an additional 7.50euro

with each transfer you make to cover banking fees that we are charged by our bank.

6. 12 week prices are only applicable when booking 12 weeks and does not apply to 4 week

courses extended to 12 weeks.
