1.Cutting your material
Drawahalfcirclewitha3½"radius.
Drawanotherhalfcircle14½"largerthanthesmallerone.
Cutthecapeletpatternfromlacefabric.
2.Centertheribbon(lengthwiseandwidthwise)alongthehalfcircle’sinsidecircleedgewiththeribbon’swrongsidefacingthelace.Sewitinplacealongtheribbon’sedgeasshown.Makesurethelacestayscenteredontheribbon.
3.Presstheribboninhalfalongthelaceseam,aligningthelongedgesusingapresscloth.

4.Sewtheribbonagainalongtheribbon’sedge,hidingthelace’sedge.
5.Tryonthecapeletandpinthesideseamstofitthroughthefrontandbackalongyourtorso.Makesuretoleaveenoughforyourarmandtorsotomove.Takeoffthecapeletandmarkthesideseamswithchalk.
6.Seweachsideseamalongyourchalkline.
