Materials • Sock for the head • Fabric scraps for ears • Ribbon for halter • Wool for horse’s mane • Buttons/felt for eyes • Sturdy stick the height of your child • Bubble wrap, newspapers or other material for stuffing • Scissors • Needle & Thread DIY HOBBY HORSE Step 1. Cover the top of stick with stuffing and some fabric scraps to keep the horses head in place. Step 3. Insert stick and then add stuffing all around it. Secure with string. Step 4. Cut and sew pieces of fabric for ears. Step 2. Stuff the sock with stuffing. Start with small pieces first to shape the head. Increase the amount of stuffing to create the shape of a horse head around the heel and sides of the sock. Instructions 1 of 2

DIY HOBBY HORSE

Step 5. Cut ribbons for the halter to make a nozzle, round the head and then the reigns. Pin the halter, eyes and ears in place. Adjust for alignment and then sew/glue them on.

Step 7. You now have a cute hobby horse!

Step 6. Create the mane by cutting strips of wool and sewing them on to the back of the neck.
