  • Remembering Dixie

Dixie Leah Thilges, a beautiful lady, passed away peacefully on July 12 in

Burlingame. She will be remembered for her love, faith, and enduring spirit.

Dixie was born in Springfield, OH to Ted and Martha Wallace. At the age

of seven she entered the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphanage in Xenia, OH.

In 1960 she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and enlisted in

the Air Force. While raising two children, she attended the College of San

Mateo and earned an A.A. degree, beginning a distinguished career as a Legal

Secretary and serving as President of the SMCLSA. Her interests included

genealogical research that earned her a place with the Daughters of the

    American Revolution.

Dixie is survived by her husband of 55 years Michael and her children

Katherine De Lozada and Dave Thilges (Joyce). Cherished grandmother of

seven and great-grandmother of eleven. She is also survived by her siblings:

    Terry, Barbara and Jennifer.

    Psalm 27:4-5

The one thing I ask of the Lord ~ the thing I seek most ~ is to live in the

house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections

and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles

come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a

    high rock.

    Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green

pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads

me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk

through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are

with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table

before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My

cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my

life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
