SECTION 10165: TOILET ACCESSORIES

1. GENERAL

1.1 Scope Work includes providing all materials, equipment, accessories, services and tests necessary to complete and make ready and operation by the Employer, all Toilet Accessories in accordance with architectural and plumping drawings and specifications.

Extent of Toilet Accessories work required by this contract is indicated on architectural drawings and by requirements of this section. Types of Toilet Accessories specified in this section include but not limited to the following:

• Soap Dispenser. • Paper towel dispenser. • Handicapped grab rails. • Toilet paper holder. • Electrical hand dryer. • Mirrors. • Other accessories.

1.2 Related Documents

Drawings and general provisions of the project contract, including general and supplementary contract general conditions, apply to the project work of this section.

Provisions for plumping work, applies to work of this section.

The requirements of this section apply to equipment specified elsewhere in the specifications.

Plumping specifications and drawings.

1.3 Quality Assurance Firms regularly engaged in manufacture of plumping fixtures and trim of types and capacities required whose products have been in satisfactory use in similar service for not less than 3 years. Provide plumping fixtures and trim produced by a manufacturer listed as an acceptable manufacturer in this section. Provide all fixtures of the same manufacturer unless otherwise noted.

Standards Compliance: Federal specification comply with requirements of WWP-54/d and American Standards.

1.4 Submittals


Submit the following in accordance with conditions of the contract and

specifications: Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s technical product data, including the selected model clearly indicated, furnished specialities and accessories and installation instruction.

Shop Drawings: Submit manufacturer’s assembly type shop drawings indicating dimension, roughing in requirements, required clearances and methods of assembly of components and anchorage's.

Samples: Submit samples of each Toilet Accessories furnished in the toilets.

Maintenance Data: Submit maintenance data and part lists for each type of Toilet Accessories.

1.5 Reference Standards All Toilet Accessories work shall be performed in strict accordance with the project specifications, architectural, plumping, drawings and the stipulations of the national standard plumping code (NPC), the corresponding Egyptian standard specifications, latest, Edition or other equivalent international standards.

1.6 Delivery, Storage and Handling Deliver Toilet Accessories individually wrapped in factory fabricated containers and handle them carefully to prevent breakage, chipping and scoring their finish. Do not install damaged Toilet Accessories, replace and remove from the project site damaged units.

1.7 Extra Materials Deliver extra materials to Employer, Furnish extra materials matching with product installed, packaged with protective covering for storage and identified with labels clearly describing contents.


2. PRODUCTS

2.1 Toilet Accessories Provide factory fabricated Toilet Accessories of types, styles, sizes, and materials indicated. All Toilet Accessories of same type must be furnished by single manufacturer. Where of same type must be furnished by type is not otherwise indicated, provide the accessories complying with installation requirements and governing regulations.

2.2 Materials Unless otherwise specified, comply with applicable standard specification of country of origin pertaining to Toilet Accessories, fittings, trim, metal, finishes and quality of finishing. Where fittings, trim and accessories are exposed or semiexposed, provide bright chrome plated or polished stainless steel units provide copper or bronze where not exposed for the following Toilet Accessories:

2.2.1 Soap Dispenser (9.5cm x 28.5cm x 11cm): Soap Dispenser wall mounted with counter soap reservoir with chrome plated brass finish.

2.2.2 Paper Tower Dispenser (39cm x 25cm x 12cm): Paper Tower Dispenser and waste receptacle, all with stainless steel finish.

2.2.3 Handicap Grab Rails (36cm x 13cm x 12cm) � 2.5cm, (31cm x 1cm) � 2.5cm and (64cm x 10cm) � 2.5cm: All with stainless steel mail with snap flanges.

2.2.4 Toilet Paper Holder (17cm x 10cm) � 2.5cm: All with Contura surface mounted multi roll toilet tissue dispenser. Stainless steel satin finish.

2.2.5 Electric Hand Dryer (30cm x 40cm x 12cm): All with chrome plated finish.


2.2.6 Mirrors: Furnish and install mirror location for he following size with concealed hangers and stainless steel frame:

- 90cm x 100cm, 6mm glass thickness. - 90cm x 70cm, 6mm glass thickness

All the above accessories will be suitable for luxry project and selected from high quality materials and manufacturer’s. the contractor has to provide a sample to the engineers for approval before delivery to the site. All the materials noggins, bearers,. Etc are required for supporting the Toilet Accessories should be accurately positioned and security fixed.

2.3 Recommended Manufacturers - Bobrick (USA). - Ceramic Dolomite (Italy). - MKinner Parker (USA). - Roca (Spain). - Bokhtal (Germany). - Approved Equal.

3. EXECUTION

3.1 Inspection Examine roughing in work of plumping fixtures to verity actual locations of Toilet Accessories. Correct any incorrect locations of Toilet Accessories and other unisatis - factory conditions for installation of Toilet Accessories. Do not proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.

3.2 Installation Install Toilet Accessories in accordance with manufacturer’s written instructions, applicable codes and regulations, and in accordance with recognised industry practices to ensure that installation complies with requirements and serves intended function of the National Standard plumping code of USA.

Coordinate with other works fasten Toilet Accessories securely to supports or building structure, and ensure that accessories are levelled. Secure the Toilet Accessories movement. Protect installed accessories from damage during the remainder of construction period.


Install chrome plated escutcheons at each wall, floor ceiling penetration in exposed finished location and within cabinets and mill work.

Clean accessories using manufacturer’s recommended cleaning methods and materials.

Provide protective covering for installed Toilet Accessories.

3.3 Field Quality Control Upon completion of installation of Toilet Accessories.

When possible, correct malfunctioning units at site then re-examinee demonstrate compliance otherwise, remove accessories and replace with new unit. Feasibility and march to be judged by the Engineer. Remove cracked or dented units and replace with new units.

Clean Toilet Accessories of dirt and debris upon completion of installation.
