How to be successful in online B2B Marketing – 4 C’s
• Content – the creation of a steady stream of engaging content
• Connection – connecting with the audience you wish to attract
• Communication – communicating with them in an ongoing conversation
• Conversion – and then converting them at the illusive moment of need
• “B2B Marketing is arguably more of a marathon than a sprint in marketing – you need to always have your 4 C’s engine going – creating the best content, finding and connecting with your target audience, sustaining the communications until they are ready to convert – this way you have a fighting chance at making all your marketing efforts count toward one goal – Sales!”

Social Media Best Practices
Do Don’t
Stay active, you’ll lose credibility and more importantly engagement if you don’t have consistent posts
Don’t Spam! You’ll lose credibility and followers
Engage! Social Media is about relationship building
Avoid blatant marketing; social media is not a space for direct marketing
Remember quality over quantity; build a strong network
Don’t try to grow too fast; avoid burning yourself out
Create value; be a resource for your followers
Don’t be a social climber; don’t only connect with people who have a lot of “followers,” “friends,” “connections”
Remember each platform has a different etiquette and social culture
Don’t forget to thank people! If someone re-tweets you, say thank you, it helps build relationships
Be yourself, be authentic and be transparent.
Don’t be a “social schizo”

10 Reasons people won’t follow you
• Your Twitter avatar is the egg (default photo)
• Your bio is empty (use keywords to help people find you)
• You don’t have any Tweets
• Your tweets are protected
• Your “follow to followed” ratio is unbalanced
• Auto-tweeting – incessantly Tweeting
• Broadcasting like a radio – again this is NOT a sales platform
• Being too self-promotional
• Incompatible content
• You haven’t engaged with anyone

• Don’t overuse hashtags – hashtags are used to join conversations
• Don’t put the same message on all platforms; they are all different communities and different etiquette
• Include your Twitter handle in your Facebook info section

• Use bit.ly to shorten links and save space
• Understand the difference between spamming and frequency; Tweet often
• Change your home page to Twitter as a reminder to stay active
• Stay positive
