Diversity Related Courses at USU Eastern

v Leadership Perspectives 1130: The purpose of this course is for students to discuss and learn about working with diverse populations, and how student leaders can advocate for various populations of students. Students will complete a series of observations in which they learn about people who are different from themselves. The final project for this course will be a presentation "My journey in Diversity" in which students discuss what they learned about themselves and others, and how they developed as a person.

Moab UT Moab is a city in Grand County that contains the Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Moab is known for its recreational opportunities in stunning natural settings which include multi-day camping trips, Sand Flats, Whitewater rafting, Kayaking, Canoeing, mountain biking, rock climbing, slacklining, hiking, and off roading. Lagoon Lagoon is an amusement park which contains various rollercoasters including the oldest rollercoaster in Utah. It is separated into five different sections; The Midway, containing the majority of the rides and an assortment of carnival type games and food outlets; Pioneer Village which has several exhibits displaying pioneer buildings and artifacts; Lagoon-A-Beach, a water park which is included in the regular admission price; Kiddie Land with several rides for small children, and the X-Venture Zone featuring more extreme rides that cost extra. Museums& Art Galleries Prehistoric Museum The Prehistoric Museum, USU-Eastern, formerly known as the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum, is a museum accredited by the American Alliance of Museums located in Price, Utah 155 E Main St, Price, UT 84501. Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

Western Mining and Railroad Museum The Western Mining & Railroad Museum tells the story of people who worked in the underground mines between 1880 and 1950, after discovering vast coal deposits in Castle Gate. Coal mining camps sprang up in the surrounding mountains, and immigrants from over 27 different countries flocked to the area, infusing the cultures of their homelands with their new world. Enjoy model trains, themed rooms with real artifacts, views of modern working trains, and a fun gift shop.
