PS 225 planned many College Access tours, with the purpose of exposing their students to
college campuses. Students visited many colleges throughout the five boroughs of New York
City, such as The College of Staten Island, Kingsborough Community College, York
College, Bronx Community College and Queens Community College are just to name a
few. Students also enjoyed trips to Yale University, West Point Academy and Princeton
University. The students asked some great questions like cost, commitment and history of each
college.
Debra a 4th grade student in PS/IS 288 is a Gold Honors recipient multiple times. She is a Grade
Point Average Champion multiple times and has
scored a four on both state exams each time she
has taken the exams, with one year having a
perfect score on the NYS Math exam. Debra
participates in our Future Teachers Program
where she tutors younger 288 scholars. Debra is
one of the top youth runners in her age division
and is one of the kindest young people you will
ever meet. Debra is a shining example of how
hard work + hard work = continual success. Keep
up the great work Debra!

representations of this year's theme, Disability Rights are Civil Rights. Eleven finalists will be
invited to a special reception and have their artwork displayed in DOE offices. One grand

information, sign up here.
2019 NYC School Survey will take place February 11 to April 3.
Each year, all parents, teachers, and students in grades 6-12
take the NYC School Survey. The survey is designed to collect
important information about each school's ability to support
student success and to help measure school quality. School
leaders use feedback from the survey to reflect and make
improvements to schools and programs.

It hard to believe over a hundred days of school have already passed; time really does fly when you’re having fun! In January, PS 97 held their annual “P.S.97’s Got Talent” show featuring their super talented third, fourth and fifth graders. They also hosted “Art Fair Jr.”, which highlighted our talented young artists. The fifth grade participated in a residency with Inside Broadway, entitled “From Rock to Stage” featuring music from a variety of Broadway musicals about icons of rock and roll.
Seth Low I.S.96 has collaborated with Grady High School to create an after school-cooking club
for I.S. 96’s students.
