How long will we have Distance Learning for? Due to government or city mandates, campuses will be closed for in-person classes. We will continue to have distance learning until further notice. Check your email frequently for updates. If I have a question, what do I do? Will my instructor be available all the time? Emailing your instructor is like raising your hand in class! You can email or call your instructor. The Director of Education and Associate Director of Education will be available during normal business hours. See the Campus phone directory. The Student Helpline is also available from 9:00AM – 5PM EST and 6:00AM – 8:00PM PST at the toll free number (866) 591-8588 or email [email protected] . We have education experts who will be able to answer your questions. I don’t have a printer. What do it do? All assignments are designed to be done paperless. Printing is not required. How will I be able to do lab on the internet? Your instructor will provide enrichment activities that can be done in a home setting. These activities are designed to supplement lab activities. When will I get my grades? Final grades will be posted on the student portal. Your instructor will go over academic progress and weekly grades with you one on one over the phone. How will I know if I’m doing something right? We encourage you to call your instructor during office hours. Your instructor will be able to walk through with you and answer questions. If I don’t have access, what do I do? We encourage you to use any device (laptop, kindle, ipad, phone, desk top, tablet, etc) to complete your work. Internet providers (like Spectrum) are now offering free internet for college students up to 60 days who are on Distance Learning due to COVID. Please call your internet and/or cell phone provider for more information. What if I don’t agree to Distance Learning? Will I get a refund? We encourage all of our students to continue learning and moving towards their career goals. If distance learning is not possible, student will be terminated from the program. How will I get lecture? Student will engage in reading and studying texts. Instructors will provide lecture on a student by student basis. Can I have a study group? Absolutely! Students are encouraged to student together. How can I email if I don’t have a scanner? Students can take a picture of the assignment or finished document and email to instructor. App scanners are not necessary. Is it ok if I turn in homework earlier?Yes. We encourage every student to not wait until the last minute to turn in homework. Homework is due before Friday midnight.

Survey Monkey requires that I do 10 questions. What if I do 2 today and finish the rest later? Will I have access again?Yes! You will have repeated access to the survey monkey form. You will use the same link every week. Save the link in your favorites on your internet browser.

How is attendance taken?Each time you submit a survey monkey answer, you’ll have attendance!

How do I access the student portal?Go to www.uei.edu. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on Student Portal. Make sure you have your personal email address and student ID #. Click to register first time user.

KINDLE – My kindle is not working.Check if the kindle is charged. If kindle is charged and the screen is frozen, turn the kindle off, wait 2 minutes and turn on. If kindle continues to not work, call the Director of Education or Student Helpline. See campus directory for phone numbers.

KINDLE – I can’t open the Kindle app on my tablet but it works on my phone.Kindle logins are only available up to 3 devices. (Example: Phone, desktop, and kindle)

KINDLE – I can’t see the books. How do I see the books?Make sure you’re connected into WIFI. Tap on the kindle app. Go to library and tap on “all”. Tap on the book. Wait for the bar on the bottom to complete. Please refer to “How To Set Up WiFi on my Kindle” document.

KINDLE – I don’t have internet on my Kindle.You’ll need to set up WiFI on your Kindle. Please refer to “How To Set Up WiFi on my Kindle” document or call the Student Helpline.
