What is DDDI?What is DDDI?

• DDDI facilitates rapid and methodical communciation between diagnostic experts and people with a need for accurate diagnosis of agricultural problems.

DDDI is a web based system that allows images along with textual information to be submitted by users.

Basically, we are updating the way to submit samples. Unlike physical submission, diagnosis can be made in a matter of minutes instead of waiting for days for a physical sample to arrive and diagnosis to be sent out.

The Imaging StationThe Imaging Station

- Stations consist of a (1)computer, (2)hand-held digital camera,(3)dissecting scope, (4)compound microscope, a (5)video camera for useon either scope, an image-capture device, Internet access, aconventional lens for the video camera, a tripod, a (6)color printer and 26volumes of disease compendia.

- Over a two-year period, Imaging Stations were distributed to 94 countyExtension offices.

- Over 250 UGA faculty were educated to use the Distance Diagnosticssystem.

additional requested information increases their ability to

All sample forms require that at least one image be included. Selecting that image is accomplished as indicated in

the following slides.

Only jpeg images can be uploaded into the system.

At the bottom of each form are fields for inserting images. All images must be accompanied by a description and SHOULD

BE PREVIEWED BEFORE THE FORM IS SUBMITTED.

If a sample form is submitted without all required fields completed, an error message

will be displayed.

When a sample form has successfully completed the submission process, a “success” page will appear,

with the sample number.

When a sample diagnosis/identification is submitted by a diagnostician, one e-mail with the diagnosis/identification is automatically sent to the e-mail address of the original submitter and another to the e-mail address of the county from which the sample was submitted. The

submission form with diagnosis, recommendation and comments is also

archived for later review.
