Samsung Displays (Infrared)Displays

The Samsung family of displays, also known as Samsung Consumer or Prosumer displays, can be controlled with Mira Connect™, Aveo Systems’ smart control appliance via the Samsung Displays Infrared (IR) interface on the Samsung display. Mira Connect communicates and controls Samsung displays over an IP connection using the Global Cache IP2IR IP to IR interface accessory.

To integrate a Samsung display with Mira Connect using IR, first set up the GlobalCache IP2IR device on the network and connect the IR emitter cable to the display to the display’s IR receiver from the Global Cache device using IR Connector 1, 2, or 3 as shown in the figure. Browse into the IP2SL and set the port operation to IR output for the IR ports that will be used as an IR emitter. See our Global Cache integration guide for more information for setting up Global Cache products.

Add the Samsung, labeled “Samsung IR” to the room in Mira Portal (https://mira.aveosystems.com), enter the IP address of the GlobalCache IP2IR device, and the IR Connector number used on the IP2SL for the IR emitter and press ‘add equipment’.

Mira Portal shows the equipment status as a green circle if the network connection is valid to the IP2SL, otherwise the warning symbol, ! , will appear indicating the IP address is not correct for the IP2IR interface.

Specify which video inputs are used on the display by selecting Edit from the device’s menu, selecting the Video Inputs tab and enabling an input, selecting an icon, and entering text labels for the desired inputs. This will create a display menu. While the Mira Connect universal equipment driver supports all inputs available across on Samsung displays, not all models will have all inputs. Enable only the inputs that will be used in the room. An optional display name may be entered which is useful when there are multiple displays in a room.
