During the 50th anniversary of the Disneyland® Resort, we are proud to announce a new scholarship program for Orange County students.

What is a Disneyland® Resort Scholarship? The Disneyland® Resort Scholarship Program reinforces our legacy of commitment to community support while enhancing and providing opportunities for educational advancement. This goal will be achieved through awarding scholarships to students who demonstrate excellence in volunteerism, exceptional leader-ship within their communities and academic excellence.

This year, during the 50th Anniversary, the Disneyland® Resort will award $50,000 in scholarships with a minimum of $5,000 per scholarship.

The Disneyland® Resort Scholarship Program will specifically recognize outstanding community service achievements by students and assist them with their continuing education.

Examples of Student ServiceEvery recipient of the Disneyland® Resort Scholarship Program must complete the minimum required hours of community service. Here are a few examples of outstanding volunteerism.

As a leader of a student club at San Clemente High School, Zak, a senior, took the lead to organize a walk team to support AIDS Walk Orange County. Zak had spent several months prior to the walk volunteering at AIDS Services Foundation (ASF) and felt AIDS Walk Orange County was a great way to encourage his classmates to get involved in our community. Through Zak’s efforts, the school had a walk team of over 50 students plus four more students have decided to volunteer their time at ASF.

Kim has a love for horses. With plans on earning her teaching credentials after high school, Kim found a way to incorporate her love for horses and teach through therapeutic riding lessons for children with disabilities. Three days a week, after school, Kim visits the riding center and works with the staff to prepare the horses for training, clean the stables and assist in the training of the disabled children.

Since the start of Chris’ freshman year of high school, he has volunteered at the Community Action Partnership of Orange County Food Bank one Saturday a month. Chris started volunteering by himself and as time progressed, has taken friends and family members with him. Now in his senior year of high school, Chris leads the volunteer team at his high school with 15 of his classmates regularly volunteer at the food bank.
