Cause:

> There is in an inconsistency at the O/S level in the IPv6 setup which makes WebCache try to listen on an IPv6 interface although IPv6 is not really configured.

Page 64: Discoverer Installations v1

> You can verify if the IPV6 enable by "lsmod |grep ipv6", if you don't find the module, then it's not IPV6-enabled in the kernel.

Solution:

1. Stop WebCache with $MW_HOME/<instance home>/bin/opmnctl stopproc ias-component=webcache1 a

2. Backup the $MW_HOME/<instance home>/config/WebCache/webcache1/webcache.xml file.

3. Add the <IPV6 ENABLED="NO"/> tag below the </MULTIPORT> tag as in the following example:

<MULTIPORT> <LISTEN IPADDR="ANY" PORT="8090" PORTTYPE="NORM"/> <LISTEN IPADDR="ANY" PORT="8094" PORTTYPE="NORM" SSLENABLED="SSL"> <WALLET>/oracle/product/middleware/asinst_1/config/WebCache/webcache1/keystores/default</WALLET> </LISTEN> <LISTEN IPADDR="ANY" PORT="8091" PORTTYPE="ADMINISTRATION"/> <LISTEN IPADDR="ANY" PORT="8093" PORTTYPE="INVALIDATION"/> <LISTEN IPADDR="ANY" PORT="8092" PORTTYPE="STATISTICS"/> </MULTIPORT> <IPV6 ENABLED="NO"/>

4. Restart WebCache and verify it can be started up now.

$MW_HOME/<instance home>/bin/opmnctl startall

Problem:Weblogic server startup fails before asking the password and the startup shows

<Apr 18, 2013 10:02:18 PM EDT> <Info> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000377> <Starting WebLogic Server with Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM Version 14.0-b16 from Sun Microsystems Inc.><Apr 18, 2013 10:02:19 PM EDT> <Info> <Security> <BEA-090065> <Getting boot identity from user.>Enter username to boot WebLogic server:weblogic<Apr 18, 2013 10:02:25 PM EDT> <Error> <Security> <BEA-090782> <Server is Running in Production Mode and Native Library(terminalio) to read the password securely from commandline is not found.><Apr 18, 2013 10:02:25 PM EDT> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000388> <JVM called WLS shutdown hook. The server will force shutdown now><Apr 18, 2013 10:02:25 PM EDT> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000365> <Server state changed to FORCE_SHUTTING_DOWN>

Cause:The PATH variable might be messed up in that environment.

This is what WLS doc says about that error:BEA-090771 Error: Server is Running in Development Mode and Native Library(terminalio) to read the password securely from commandline is not found.

Description Server is Running in Development Mode and Native Library(terminalio) to read the password securely from commandline is not found. Cause Server could not start because it didn't find the Native Library to read the password securely from commandline in the PATH or -Dweblogic.management.allowPasswordEcho=false is set. Action Verify that terminalio library exists in the path. You can set this by specifying -Djava.library.path to the directory where this library exists or you can use boot.properties to store the password or you can use -Dweblogic.management.allowPasswordEcho=true to enter the password in echo mode. Try these steps1. Unset the JAVA_OPTIONS variable, and try starting the managed server using the following command:./startManagedWeblogic.sh soa_server1

2. set WLS_USER & WLS_PW environment variables with corresponding username & password and try executing the start command./startManagedWeblogic.sh soa_server1

From your post it seems like there is a typo error in the command you used:"JAVA_OPTIONS=-Dweblogic.managerment.allowPasswordEcho=true

Page 67: Discoverer Installations v1

"You have wrongly typed as 'managerment' instead of 'management'If you are using this option unset the WLS_USER & WLS_PW environment variables.

Try the above steps and let me know whether it works or not.

Solution:hard code the password in startManagedWebLogic.sh and it started properly

WLS_USER="weblogic"export WLS_USER

WLS_PW="weblogic123"export WLS_PW
