DAY1 • QUITOARRIVALOn the first day of your journey, you’ll be greeted at the airport by a

Celebrity Cruises® representative and transferred to the JW Marriott

hotel. Enjoy free time to relax and settle in.

DAY 2 •QUITOBreakfast is served at the hotel. During your guided tour of the capital

of Ecuador, situated at an altitude of 9,350 feet, you’ll stand on the equatorial line at the Middle of the World Park and Museum, and marvel at the monastery of San Francisco and La Compañía de Jesús Church. Your Tour Director will escort you throughout your

Quito stay, and serve as your personal concierge. Lunch is served with a spectacular view of the city, and enjoy a welcome dinner at a local gourmet restaurant.

DAY14 • WEDNESDAYAM/PM • SACREDVALLEY/ MACHU PICCHUAfter breakfast at the hotel,depart for Machu Picchu on theVistadome from the Tambo del Inca hotel train station. Lunch will

be served at the Sanctuary Lodge in Machu Picchu. Tour the almost perfectly preserved buildings and the mysterious passageways underlying the city. Then enjoy welcoming aperitifs, dinner, and an excellent selection of wines, while relaxing on the Orient Express

Hiram Bingham back to Cuzco for an evening of local music, dancing, and Pisco sours. Overnight at Hotel Monasterio in Cuzco.

DAY15 • THURSDAYAM/PM • CUZCO,PERUAfter breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a scenic tour at the Coricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, before touring the Sacsayhuamán fortress and the cathedral, one of the most splendid

Spanish colonial churches in America, housing about 400 paintings from the Cuzco art school, impressive goldsmith, silversmith, and stone works. Lunch is served at a gourmet restaurant, with dinner at the Hotel Monasterio.

DAY16 • FRIDAYAM/PM • CUZCO/ LIMA, PERUUpon your return flight to Lima, enjoy a scenic tour of the city, visiting the Larco Herrera Museum, a colonial mansion built in the

18th century. Have lunch at the Café del Museo restaurant before proceeding to the Historic Center of Lima and the convent of San Francisco, a masterpiece of colonial architecture. Dine and overnight or enjoy the day room at the Westin Lima Hotel.

CHAMPIONISLAND, FLOREANAChampion lies east of Floreana andprovides a wonderful opportunity for

snorkeling and a Zodiac ride. When snorkeling, tropical fish abound with frequent sightings of sea turtles, rays, sharks,seastars, andmore.

CHINESE HATISLETThis small volcanic islet near the southeastern coast of Santiago Island

is shaped amazinglylikea Chinese hat, or "Sombrero Chino" in Spanish. It is formed of hardened lava and spatter cones,which make for excellentscenic photos. Several species of Darwin’s

finches are found on the island, and along the coast you will find the very colorfulSally lightfootcrabsandsealions.

CORMORANTPOINT, FLOREANAISLANDFloreana was the first capital of theGalapagos, and where Charles Darwin

met the islands’ Governor. Its small brackish lagoon is often home to flamingos, stilts, and white-cheeked pintail ducks,and one of its beaches is a

highly used nesting site for sea turtles.Check out the green-hued sand where

you land!

DAPHNEMAJORDaphne is a satellite volcanic cone

located north of Santa CruzIsland.This island is famous for the scientificinvestigation led byPeterandRosemary Granton the finches’population,one of

the most important studies in the field that supports Charles Darwin’s Theory.

DARWIN BAY, GENOVESAISLANDDarwin Bay’ssoft white sand is onlythe beginning of a spectacular day. A

trail from the beach takes you into lushmangroves where red-footed boobiesnest. Other local wildlife includes sealions, swallow-tailed gulls, frigatebirds,and more.

DRAGONHILL, SANTACRUZISLANDDragonHill,or “CerroDragon,” is namedafter its population of land iguanas.

Thesiteoffers a beautiful view of the landscape and two small brackish lagoons where flamingos and other shore birds occasionally feed. Along the trail,we’ll cross a beautiful “white

forest” of PaloSanto (incense)trees and Galapagos cottonplants.

EGASPORT,SANTIAGOISLANDWith its black sand beach, coastal tide pools, and blue-water grottoes, this

stop offers a wonderful taste of the Galapagos and the opportunity to see shore birds, Galapagos Hawks, sea lions, marine iguanas, and Galapagos fur seals. Sea lions, colorful tropical

fish,and sea turtles are often seen while snorkeling (conditionspermitting).

EL BARRANCO, GENOVESAISLANDElBarranco,alsoknown as PrincePhilip’sStepsafter theprince who visitedin1965

and again in 1981, is a steep stairway that leads up through a seabird colony fullof Nazca and red-footedboobies.Oncevisitors reach the plateau,the

trail continues inland and passes morenesting booby colonies in the thin Palo

Santo forest.

ELIZABETH BAY, ISABELAISLANDElizabethBayis one of the westernmostpoints in the Galapagos.A scenicZodiac

ride within this sheltered inlet offers viewing of a wide varietyof wildlife and a wonderful mangroveecosystem.

ESPINOZA POINT, FERNANDINAISLANDFernandina is the youngest island inthe Galapagos and, as Darwin wrote,

it is “covered with immense deluges of black naked lava.” Along with its extraordinary black lava rocks, this point of land hosts the largest colony of marine iguanasin the Archipelago,

along with sea lions and a nesting site for flightlesscormorants.

ESPUMILLABEACH, SANTIAGOISLANDLocatedonthenortherncoastof SantiagoIslandin James Bay,this beach is a sea

turtle nesting site.Thefavoredattractions hereare thePaloSantoforest,beach, and the lovely landscape. The trail passes a small seasonal lagoon where flamingos and white-cheeked pintail ducks are

sometimes seen.Continuingon,the trail loops throughthearidzone,wheresome ofthe tallest Palo Santo trees of the entirearchipelagoare found.

GARDNER BAY, ESPAÑOLAISLANDThebeachat GardnerBay,with itssparkling white sand, offers one of the best places to relax and swim in the Galapagos. It’s home toone ofthe most importantcolonies of sea lions in the

archipelago, and is alsoa nestingsite for

sea turtles. Three species of Darwin’s

finchesandEspañola mockingbirdsmay also be seen here.

KICKERROCK,SAN CRISTOBALISLANDKicker Rock or León Dormido, named

for its characteristic shape like that of a boot or sleepinglion,is a dramatic sight with the remains of a volcanic tuff cone rising almost 148m straight up out of the ocean. Erosion has split the rock

into two parts, forming a narrow channelbetween.

LASBACHAS,SANTA CRUZISLANDLasBachas Beach is located in the north

of Santa CruzIsland. Its soft, white sand is derived from coral and shells,making it a favorite nesting site for sea turtles. Behind the beach there is a small brackish lagoon, where it is possible to

observe flamingos and other coastal birds,such as black-necked stiltsandwhimbrels.

LOSLOBOS,SAN CRISTOBALISLANDNamed after its large colony of sea

lions, this islandusually allowsvisitors to

observe sea lion pups, especially while snorkeling. In addition, we may see

blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds,and

evena glimpseat thesecond type of sea lion species found in Galapagos:thefur sea lion.It is a seasonalnesting

location for blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds.

aboutthe importance ofthe Galapagos gianttortoise.Visitorscanseebothhatchling tortoises andtheolderbreeding animals.

PUNTA PITT,SANCRISTOBALPitt Point is located on the northeastern tipofSanCristobalIsland.Afterdisembarking onto the small green sand beach, you’ll hike up to a plateau, where the view and landscape are so

spectacular it is well worth the effort.A steep gully leadstuhpretheevcalriifef ttioesaobfrebeodoibnigegs:roreudn-d for all footed, blue-footed, and Nazca. It’s the only place in the Galapagos where you can see all three species nesting together.

RABIDAISLANDA small island south of Santiago, Rabida is best known for its red sand and

eroded volcanic landscape. A nesting colonyof pelicansmakesits home here, along with sea lionsandsome seabirds.

SANTA FEISLANDThe visitat Santa Fe beginswith a wet landing on the smallbeach in Barrington

Bay on the northeastside ofthe island. Large numbers ofsea lions are found on the beaches and canoften be seen surfing inthe waves.Some ofthe island’s endemic speciesincludemassiveSanta

FeOpuntia cactus, the Galapagos hawk, Galapagos snake, rice rats, different types offinches, and the Galapagos mockingbird.The

MORENO POINT, ISABELAISLANDAlong this beautiful rocky shore, afield of hardened black lava flows is

pockmarked by shallow pools, which are home to shorebirds and flamingos. The mangrove-linedshorealso provides a chance to see marine iguanas, sea turtles, stingrays, sharks, penguins, and

the flightlesscormorant.

MOSQUERAISLETThis small, flat, sandy islet sits in the channel between Baltra and North

Seymour. It is almost devoid of vegetation, but has one of the largest populations of sea lions in the islands. Its sandy expanse offers visitors the perfect opportunity to observesea lion

behavior. It is also a beautiful site to observelava gulls,coastal birds,and Sally lightfoot crabs.

NORTHSEYMOURISLANDNorth Seymour is a small island just north of Baltra. It is home to the largest

colony of frigatebirds in the Galapagos. While keeping an eye out for male frigatebirds trying to impress potential mates with an inflated red neck pouch,you mayalso see blue-footed boobies dancing in a timeless courtship ritual.

POST OFFICEBAY, FLOREANAISLANDRich in history,this site is home to thepost office barrel established in about

1793, where pirates, buccaneers, whalers, and others could leave their mail to be picked up by outbound ships. The tradition continues today,as visitors leave addressed postcards in the

barrel and sort through left mail to deliverat home.

PUERTO AYORA, SANTACRUZISLANDThis is the main population center of theislands, and home to the National Park

Servicetortoise-breeding center and the Charles Darwin Research Station. You will be able to visit the tortoise-breeding center and walk through the Charles Darwin ResearchStation.

SOUTH PLAZA, SANTACRUZISLANDOneof the islands off SantaCruz, SouthPlaza was born of upheaval, uplifted

during a geologic event. The rocky island is strewn with prickly pear cactus and home to land iguanas, marine iguanas, and a colony of sea lions.

SUAREZ POINT, ESPAÑOLAISLANDEspañola is the oldest islandin the

Galapagos.SuarezPoint is also home to large populationsof Nazca andblue-footed boobies, colorful Española

lava lizards, Galapagos hawks, Española mockingbirds, three species of Darwin’sfinches,Galapagosdoves, swallow-tailed

gulls and red-billed tropicbirds, which dash in and out of the cracks in the

cliffs, as well as the astounding waved albatross(betweenApriland December).

The 10,000 to 12,000 pairs of waved albatrosson Española representthevast majorityof this specieson the planet.

SULLIVAN BAY, SANTIAGOISLANDDuring a volcaniceruptionin the early1900’s, thisareaof Santiagowascovered

with flowing lava. Today, the hardened fields of black rock create a geologic wonderland.Wewill takeadvantageofthe cool of early morningfor a walk to view

strange twisting hardened lava flows, collapsedcraters, andeveryone’s favorite, the hornitosor lava ovens.Tallred scoria cones and pioneer plants also dot this

unusualand very young landscape.

TAGUSCOVE,ISABELAISLANDHistorically an anchoragefor pirates and whalers, this site offers a

breathtaking view of Isabela, its volcanoes, and spectacular Darwin Lake. Along the shore, seabirds, penguins, sea lions, seaturtles, and nesting flightless cormorants can

often befound.

VICENTEROCAPOINT, ISABELAISLANDThe half-collapsed remainsof anancient volcano make for a spectacular

setting at this site. Awe-inspiring cliffs, blue waters,and wildlife create a Zodiac ride to remember as we search for sea turtles, penguins,fur seals, the flightless cormorant, marine iguanas, marine

mammals, and the oddly shaped form of the elusivesunfish.

WALLOFTEARS, ISABELAISLANDThe Wall is 15 to 20 feet (5-6m) high,10 feet (3m) wide, and approximately

300 feet (100m) long. When jailed in a penal colony here between 1944 and 1959, prisoners were forced to build the wall, stone by stone, in isolation,only to

be asked to tear it down again and start

over. It is a lesson in history and a

remnant of a cruel and intolerant time.

WARLOCKHILL(CERROBRUJO), SAN CRISTOBALISLANDLocated on the north coast of SanCristobal Island, Cerro Brujo is the

eroded remains of a volcanic tuff cone. It is one of the first sites visited by Charles Darwin. CaptainFitzroyclimbed to the top of the hill to scout out reefs.

The favorite attraction here is the gorgeous whitesandbeach—awonderful place to swim or take a walk along the shoreline.

URVINABAY,ISABELAISLANDComposed of five coalesced volcanoes, Isabela is the largest island in the

Galapagos and the most recently active, the latest eruption having occurred in 2015.Herewewill seelarge land iguanas, finches, and if lucky, a giant tortoise or two. In 1954, the intrusion of magma

below one of the island’s volcanoes caused part of the bay to be uplifted some 6 meters, and today we can walk through the remains of what was once a thriving underwaterreef.
