Stimulates Your Body to Build More Fat? Although most fitness magazines and trainers will tell you to do 45 to 60 minutes of
cardio exercise to get fit or lose weight, I’m here to tell you something totally different.
The truth is, the longer you do cardio exercise, the more fat you build.

You see, your body can select from several fuel sources to provide you with energy.
It can choose to burn fat, burn carbohydrates or break down protein. The choices of these
three energy sources depend on the level of intensity of your exercise.
Take a look at the following chart to see what I mean:
As shown in this chart, your exercise intensity has a tremendous impact on how your
body chooses its fuel source. Your body uses the most fat (60%) while you rest. That’s
why when you turn on your fat-burning switch properly, you teach your body to burn
more fat while you rest.
Not only will exercise intensity affect your body’s choice of its fuel source, the
duration of your exercise is also important. From the moment you start any activity, your
body chooses from different fuel sources to supply you with energy.
For the first 2 to 3 minutes, your body uses a most directly available source of
energy called ATP, which is a macromolecule that serves as the primary energy currency
of the cell. But your ATP supplies are limited. So afterwards, your body has to switch to
carbs stored in your muscle tissue. Your carbs supplies last for 15 to 20 minutes. After
that your body switches to burning fat as the energy source.
So, doesn’t that mean that you have to exercise more than 20 minutes to kick into fat
burning model?
No. As you know, your body is an intelligent
organism, and it’s capable of changing itself to better
meet your current demands. So, when you exercise to
burn fat, you’re actually teaching your body that you need
more fat. Your body will respond by building more fat to
prepare for your next demand. So the more fat you burn
while exercising, the more fat your body will prepare for
you to burn.
After a while, your body will become so efficient at
building and preserving fat, no matter how long you
exercise you can’t seem to lose any more fat. Simply
because your body has done everything within its power
to make sure you’ll never run out of your main fuel
during your workout routine – by building and storing
more fat.
Think about it…
All that time and effort… just to build more fat.
So don’t even bother using this strategy to lose fat. It doesn’t work. It simply can’t
help you lose fat because your body will fight you every step of the way. Instead of
burning fat, you’ll sacrifice lean tissue like muscle and your internal organs.
What you should take is another approach – an exercise routine that can help you
turn on your fat-burning switch. Once your pilot switch is turned on, losing fat will
become much easier than you think. No more counting calories… No more restricting
yourself from your favorite food… No more wasting your precious time doing hour-long

Here’s an example of what I mean…
Researchers at Laval University in Quebec divided participants into two groups:
long-duration and repeated short-duration exercisers. They had the long-duration group
cycle 45 minutes without interruption. The short-term interval group cycled in numerous
short bursts of 15 – 90 seconds, while resting in between.
The long duration group burned twice as many calories, so you would assume they
would burn more fat. However, when the researchers recorded their body composition
measurements, the interval group showed that they lost the most fat.
In fact, the interval group lost 9 times more fat than the endurance group for every
calorie burned. This proofs that short-duration interval exercise is more efficient at
burning fat then long-duration exercise.
