Spend an afternoon lounging on the beach at the Fort Gratiot County Park. Get a bird’s-eye view of Lake Huron from the top of the Fort Gratiot Light Station, Michigan’s oldest lighthouse.

Hike or bike over the 640-foot Mill Creek Trestle on the 12-mile Wadhams to Avoca Trail. Go fishing on the Black River at the Woodsong County Park or the Belle River at the Columbus County Park. Listen to the laughter of children playing in the splashpad at Goodells County Park, also home of a historic

village and the St. Clair County Farm Museum.

Discover the Blue/Clay

Algonac embraces its nautical history, as does its neighbor, Clay Township. It has long been recognized for its contribution to the boating industry and it is often referred to as the “Venice of Michigan” for its vast waterway system. Algonac is the birthplace of Chris Craft Boats and is the former home of Gar Wood Boats. Clay is known for its marsh system and its hunting and fishing opportunities.

A long-time “must-do” destination for antique collectors, historic Marine City has also become a hot spot for live theatrical productions. In late 2014, The Riverbank Theater opened and joined its predecessor, The Snug Theater, downtown. Both theaters boast waterfront locations. Hungry?
