ABC Early Childhood Learning Center (Ages 6 weeks - 5 years old)We provide a nurturing environment and enriching experiences that help to facilitate a child’s cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth. Children will learn skills that are necessary for success in school and in life. Getting along with other children, sharing, taking turns and working in a group are a natural part of the early childhood education process. Our curriculum incorporates math, reading, social studies, science, music, theater, dance, and Judaic culture. We strive to meet the developmental needs of each individual child by working in partnership with their families. Our full-day or half-day programs are for children ages two through five. The YMCA has made a commitment to quality and safety by striving to surpass state licensing standards.

NEW! S.O.A.R. Afterschool Program (Service, Opportunity, Academics and Recreation) - Membership is required For children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Let your child soar after school at the Y! The S.O.A.R. Afterschool program at the Y is much more than a place for kids to run, jump and play (although we do that too). We focus on nurturing the potential of every child with homework help and STEAM activities, while providing parents peace of mind knowing their child is safe.

Full-Day KindergartenAs an added convenience for families, the Y offers a full-day Kindergarten program. The full-day Kindergarten program follows the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and is led by certified teachers.

Intro to Diving (ages 6+) This course teaches participants the introductory steps to diving off of a 1 meter spring diving board. Each participant receives individualized attention in a safe and controlled environment. Our two NCAA coaches lead the participants to success.

Synchronized Swimming (ages 6+) Combines music, dance and swimming into “the ultimate team sport”. Each swimmer’s training will challenge them physically, while the artistic side of the sport provides and outlet for creative expression. The goal for all team members is to reach their potential while having FUN!

Water Polo (Coed, ages 10-18) This new co-ed water polo club introduces participants to game strategy, swim techniques, and water polo skills, like throwing and shooting goals with one hand while treading water. Students must be level 4 swimmers.

Bluestreaks Competitive Swim Team (Ages 6-18, Level 4 or above skill.) Prerequisite: Proficient at swimming the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle in proper technique.

“Bluestreaks” is a member of YMCA/USA Swimming. The mission of the swim team is to teach competitive swimming to serious swimmers within a positive environment. Our team of coaches strives to make each member achieve his/her potential and exposes athletes to the exciting world of team swimming.

All parents are required to volunteer in assisting the running of the swim meets held during the season as timers, marshals, judges, as well as various fund raising events. This helps the YMCA of Wayne to maintain the high standards in programming which includes the Bluestreaks Swim Team and to keep costs affordable. Y Facility Membership is required

Long Course Season runs April 9-June 25. (Competitive goes until July 27th)This program will help current swim team members continue their progression and endurance. This will also help new swim team members increase their endurance, improve stroke techniques and allow you to be part of a competitive environment. Swimmers are divided into four groups based on age and ability. All swimmers will participate in team practices that will help improve their swimming skills and personal times. Only the competitive team will participate in swim meets.

American Red Cross BabysittingAmerican Red Cross babysitting training and Advanced Child Care courses can help you gain the skills you need to take care of the kids in your neighborhood when their parents can't be with them. Created for both young babysitters and seasoned child care professionals, our best-in-class training gives you the opportunity to sharpen your skills and become a safe, reliable babysitter. During your training, you can also choose to earn your First Aid and CPR/AED certifications (good for two years), which can help you learn how to provide care during an emergency. Delay the Disease Parkinson’s Exercise ClassDelay the Disease empowers individuals suffering from Parkinson’s disease by optimizing physical function and helping to delay the progression of symptoms. Geared specifically to counteract the movement challenges that are unique to Parkinson’s. Taught by certified Parkinson’s exercise specialist Drewann Rodney. BOSU® Mobility and Stability for the Active Aging Adult This class provides participant research based experiences for improvement through mobility and stability “GAMES” (kinesthetic challenges and drills) for functionality, reaction, fall prevention, coordination, range of motion, and overall self-efficacy. Participants will become aware of the meaning and differences in their chronological, biological and functional ages and how they can be addressed. Neuroplasticity games are also included to improve your brain cells. Taught by accredited instructor who will help you regain your balance and improve your quality of life. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is an evidence based program that helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and wellbeing following a cancer diagnosis. The Wayne Y creates a welcoming community in which survivors can improve their strength and physical fitness, diminish the severity of therapy side effects, develop supportive relationships, and improve their quality of life.

Movin' and Groovin'This program is designed for special needs individuals and consists of weight training activities for strengthening, lively music and dance for cardio and yoga movements for stretching. Everyone moves at their own pace.Tuesday 4:30-5:15pmFacility/Program Member: $69

Piano Studio Private Lessons (All ages)45 minute private piano lessons are taught by Svetlana Brandt, an accomplished pianist and educator, who has been teaching piano at all levels – from beginners to adults for over 16 years.
