Discover Jewels through Difficulties

Did you experience some difficulty this week? Maybe you quarreled with a friend. Or maybe you were sick and had to stay home from school or missed a fun event you had hoped to attend. If you did face something difficult today, you don’t have to be discouraged about it, because often you gain beautiful lessons from difficulties that help make your life better and make you a little stronger. If you’re facing a difficult time, you can find comfort in the stories of others who also faced similar trying times. Struggling with a friend: Read the Bible story in Luke 22:24–27 about when Jesus’ disciples were arguing about who was the greatest, or read “Don’t Argue, Have Fun” about the benefits of appreciating each other when playing together. You might even want to write a Bible verse in your study notebook to help remind you of the benefits of getting along well with others. If you are sick, you can read Bible stories about Jesus healing people, and receive encouragement knowing that Jesus will take good care of you and in time you will get better. You may even be inspired to memorize a Bible verse about healing, such as one found in the “Crazily Cool Card Set: God’s Healing Power.” There are many jewels to find, even in difficulties. If you’re facing a difficult time, you can find comfort in the stories of others who also faced similar trying times.

Struggling with a friend:Read the Bible story in Luke 22:24–27 about when Jesus’ disciples were arguing about who was the greatest, or read “Don’t Argue, Have Fun” about the benefits of appreciating each other when playing together. If you are sick, you can read Bible stories about Jesus healing people, and receive encouragement knowing that Jesus will take good care of you and in time you will get better.
