DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL
• Children of broken families• Students who work in tourism field during summer season (April – October)• Students staying at dormitories or by themselves• Students who are experiencing adolescence rebellion• Students from lower income families• Students who have uneducated parents• Cultural differences• Different moral values• Students with low self esteem and low self-confidence• Different ethnic groups• Lack of concentration during hot season• Lack of control over the students because of long working hours of the
parents during tourism season.
WHAT DO WE DO FOR THEM?
FIRST STEPS:
• Determination of the disadvantage through problem screening tests and questionnaires
• Preparation of the problem inventory
STUDENTS WITH LOW INCOME
• Financial support from school funds, government funds and funds of the local administration
• Free transportation to and from school• Education grant• Free school books
STUDENTS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING ADOLESCENCE REBELLION
• Education seminars for students and parents
• Awareness seminars for the students
• Directing to psychologists
STUDENTS FROM BROKEN FAMILIES
• Meetings with the parents for providing the support of both parents
• Private meetings with the students to understand their feelings and thoughts
STUDETS WHO ARE STAYING AT DORMITORIES
• Visits to the dormitories
• Continuous negotiations with the officials of the dormitories
• Private meetings with the students to identify their problems
STUDENTS WITH LOW SELF ESTEEM AND SELF CONFIDENCE AND TEST

for the students• Awareness seminars for the classmates• Special examination methods
OTHER PROBLEMS
• Directing to the counseling and research centers for the unsolved problems
• Most of the help is given through private meetings with the students and supporting
