DELTA'S ELEMEnTARY SCHOOLSAbout Our Elementary SchoolsOur 24 elementary schools have populations of 175 to 550 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7. There are only a few ESL students in our elementary schools and many schools have less than 3% second language learners. Each school provides ESL instruction for visiting international students (with small class sizes). Elementary international students learn English quickly due to complete immersion environments. Delta students are very curious and eagerly welcome visiting international students. The Delta staff open their hearts and minds to our worldwide students and personally invite you to join our schools.

Canadian Homestay ExperienceOur homestay program is run by the school district, not a private business, so school district staff are committed to providing a safe, quality homestay for each visiting student. All homestay families have been screened with a criminal record check and have been inspected to ensure high quality, safe, and welcoming environments.

Students are provided with:> A private bedroom, including: comfortable bed, study table, and lamp> Bathroom and laundry facilities> Three full meals a day and snacks> Airport pick up and drop off

International students will submit the homestay profile page, which allows them to list specific requirements of a homestay family. Once a family is selected, we will email a profile with pictures and contact numbers/email address so that new students will have more information about their host family and will be able to make initial contact prior to arrival.

Homestay coordinators work closely with families, students, and school coordinators to ensure that students receive consistent care through clear communication among all support providers.
