June was a great month with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. The membership
agrees, because all outlets at the Club have been very busy. It is great to see the
members utilizing their Club.
The Pool area project was completed on Friday, May 27th, and really looks good. The flat
roof of the Pool House was replaced with a new peaked roof to match the Clubhouse
profile. The Pool House and north Clubhouse exteriors, along with the east wall, were all
clad in cedar. This has really brought a new look to the entire area. The new Gazebo and
food service equipment are working great. If you have not been able to come out and
see the Pool area, please do.
The new bridges on holes #2 and #12 are now completed and in use. They match the
other new bridge on hole #10. The old bridges will soon be coming down. The dismantling
of the old bridges will take a little time to accomplish. Thank you to Liz and Dick Uihlein for
their help with these added improvements to Kenosha Country Club.
We have had two of our members recently leave the Board of Directors: Mr. Frank Bryant
(Marketing and Membership Committee) and Mr. Al Kirchhein (Rules, By-Laws, and History
Committee). A big thank you goes out to both of these members for their help in making
Kenosha Country Club a better place. We also thank them for the time they put aside, not
only for the Board meetings, but for their respective committee work as well. Please join
me in welcoming Mr. Tom Davis and Mr. Bill Collins as the newest members on the Board.
Mr. Davis will be the new Marketing and Membership Committee Chair. Mr. Collins will also
join him on this very important committee that deals with member recruitment and
retention.
In June, the Wine and Nine Twilight Golf event was a great success with 60 members and
guests enjoying nine holes of golf, along with a great dinner and a few beverages. On
July 23rd, we will be having another Twilight Golf event themed as “Disco at Dusk”. Disco
and golf attire from the 70’s is welcome. This event is open to all members of the Club and
their guests. All skill levels welcome. Sign-up early as it promises to be a fun event.
Kenosha Country Club is able to host and cater a long list of different types of events right
here at your Club. Whether it is a banquet that you are involved with or one that you are
able to refer to the Club, you can be assured that your group will have a very positive
experience with service and Chef Proulx’s excellent culinary offerings. For those that have
booked events at the Club this year, we thank you. Banquets are an important profit
center to the Food and Beverage Department at Kenosha Country Club.
The Management and Staff of Kenosha Country Club are committed to continuous
improvement and member satisfaction.

Sales & Marketing Director I want to thank the members that have brought prospects
out to see the new pool updates, taste the scrumptious
cuisine, and enjoy your meticulously groomed Donald Ross
designed golf course. Thanks to you, we now have some
new families and members enjoying the pleasures of KCC.
The Club has been host to several successful charitable
fundraising events in the month of June. Thank you to all of
the members who have participated in these outings and
made the community feel welcome. With all the positives
happening at the Club, let’s work together to bring more
people out to share all the finer things we have to offer.
Please do not hesitate to give me a call to make
arrangements for a prospective member to enjoy the
Club. I am happy to welcome any friends, family or
co-workers you feel may be a potential fit for membership.

Pool Manager July at the KCC is going to be very exciting! We will be
hosting the Fourth of July party on Sunday, July 3rd this
year. At the party there will be fun games such as water
balloon tosses, Marco Polo, and a scavenger hunt. The
Pool is open throughout the holiday weekend, so make
sure to stop by and enjoy the fun and wonderful July
weather! The Pool is open daily from 10am to 8pm.
Lastly, if anyone is interested in swimming lessons, please
speak with one of the Lifeguards, they will be happy to
give you information. Swim lessons are a great opportunity
for both beginner and veteran swimmers.
See you poolside!

The new bridges on holes #2 and #12 are now complete
with the addition of the cart paths. The old bridges will be
removed soon, as time permits, and the cart paths leading
to the old bridges will also be removed. Those areas will
then be restored to grass. Our spring aerification has also
been completed.
Additional course objectives this year include some bunker
restorations on the 7th and 8th holes, and green and
fairway expansions. We will begin these projects as time
and weather conditions allow.
Thank you for the many favorable comments that we have
received regarding the golf course conditions and
improvements. Please remember that we are always
open to new ideas that will improve your golf course.

The next Book Club meeting will be
Tuesday, July 26th. For those that
attended in June, please note the
date change. At a previous Book
Club, we decided that we should
meet on Tuesday evenings because
the 9-hole Golf League is already set
for Wednesdays.
This month, we have chosen to read
and discuss “The Girl on the Train” by
Paula Hawkins.
Please remember to call or e-mail Nikki with your
reservation.
This year, the Junior Program has more players under the
age of 7 than we have ever had, including players playing
on multiple days. That being said, I’m excited that the
KCC Tennis Program continues to grow. This is the second
year we are hosting a Women’s State League Team, and
they are really enjoying it. Pickleball is the newest addition
to the Club, so come out and see what it is all about. We
have something for all ages and abilities.
In addition to classes, we’ve had some great events at the
Tennis Courts. This year’s United for a Cure was a well
attended with almost 30 players attending the event from
Illinois to Milwaukee. Everyone enjoyed plenty of tennis
and supported this great cause.
Some upcoming events are: Breakfast at Wimbledon on
July 9th, the 1st Pickleball Tournament on July 16th and a
Tennis Skills Competition on July 30th. The final event of
the summer is the Championship Weekend in August.
In addition to the Junior Programing and events, there are
plenty of options for adults as well:
Cardio Tennis - Mondays, 10am - 11am
Intro to Pickleball - Tuesdays, 10am - 11am
Ladies Drill - Wednesdays, 9:30am -11am
Shot of the Week - Fridays, 9:30am - 11am
If you are looking to start playing tennis, KCC offers Tennis
1-2-3 is on Thursdays, 9am - 10am and Saturdays, 11am -
12pm. For all the weekly Adult Drills, please sign-up 24
hours in advance.
If there is something you would like to see at the Tennis
Courts, please let me know. Your feedback is important.
See you on the courts!
