A Disciple’s Habit
Scripture
What we study determines what kind of habits are to be formed in our lives
“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God my be thoroughly equipped for every good work”
II Timothy 3: 16-17
“Scripture can not be broken” – Jesus John 10:35
“How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word” Psalms 119:9
Blessed is the man…delights in the word (law) of the LORD, and on His words he, meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit…” Psalms 1:1-3
Scripture BasicsWhen you read you should:
1. Summarize - the narrative. Making sense of the passage.
2. Understand - What does this mean? Why would God choose this story and these words/tense/phrase/person/story/theme? What is the purpose?
3. Application - How does this change me? In light of this scripture, how shall I live?

Job description
Psalm 23“The LORD is my shepherd
I shall not want
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
For You are with me;
Your rod and staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
