TRAVEL ENTITLEMENTS

NOTE: GOVCC not authorized for separation/retirement travel

The Disbursing Office pays:

All travel entitlements for the Marine and

dependents. All active duty pay & entitlements up to the

last day of active duty.

USMC Disbursing

Entitlements for Separation Travel

You are entitled to: 1. Travel entitlements from Okinawa to your

Processing Station. 2. Travel entitlements to your home of record,

place entered on active duty, or home of selection (retirees only)

There are No Entitlements for DLA or TLE upon discharge or release from active duty.

Home of Selection

• Home of Selection: The place selected by a member as the member’s home upon retirement (including transfer to the Fleet Reserve or Fleet Marine Corps Reserve), Under the conditions of JFTR, par U5130-A1.

Note : Member must show intent of establishing a permanent residence in order for the location to be considered a HOS.

Retirees are limited to the CONUS 48 States as their HOS.

Additional Documents

• Members and Dependents traveling in a personal vehicle rate $.23/mile

• Travel reimbursement for dual vehicles is authorized. Each

vehicle will rate $.23/mile

Entitlement For POV (MALT)

Entitlement For POV (Per Diem)

• Member rates $140.00 a day • Dependents Over 12 years of age rate 75%: $105.00

• Dependents Under 12 rate 50%: $70.00

Per diem while driving is also meant to cover lodging and meal

expenses.

Determine Travel Days Computation of Travel Days

0 - 400 miles = 1 Day 1801 - 2150 = 6 Days

401 - 750 = 2 Days 2151 - 2500 = 7 Days

751 - 1100 = 3 Days 2501 - 2850 = 8 Days

1101 - 1450 = 4 Days 2851 - 3200 = 9 Days

1451 - 1800 = 5 Days 3201 - 3550 = 10 Days (After first 400 miles, every 349 miles = 1 day)

You are responsible for Mailing your claim to Camp Pendleton or the Alternate Processing

Station.

After separating, you have ONE YEAR to submit your travel claim to your nearest

Disbursing Office.

PAY ENTITLEMENTS

Final Pay Substantiating Documents

• Separation/Travel Pay Certification (NAVMC 11060) • Copy of all Orders w/1st Endo

• Flight Itinerary

• CG’s Authorization letter to retire on island.

Separation Travel Pay Certificate (11060)

This form is your Separation Order which is generated by your unit’s S1/separations section. You will also be issued official travel orders to Camp Pendleton or your Alternate Processing Station.

NOTE: You’re responsible for ensuring all information is accurate.

Last Direct Deposit.

• COLA stops the day prior to your permanent departure from the island.

• All regular pay entitlements will continue until the last day of active duty.

• Single Marines get BAH own right and BAS while on

terminal leave. – BAH Location is the zip code of your separation site

Last Direct Deposit cont’d

• If member is staying on island, ensure that IPAC states on 11060 that Terminal leave will be taken on Island.

• The Member will also need a signed letter of

approval to separate on island.

• COLA will stop on the 31st day of Terminal leave. • Marines retiring on island will continue to receive

COLA and OHA until their EAS.

Lump Sum Leave

• Lump Sum Leave (LSL). Payment for unused leave days are included in your final direct deposit. Computation of LSL.

• Base Pay divided by 30, multiplied by the number of days you’re eligible to sell, minus taxes.

• Federal tax is 25%. State taxes will vary. • Active Duty Service Members are limited to sell 60

days of leave in a career.

Combat Leave and Allotments

• All Combat leave is also settled in the final

payment, if not used. • The member must elect which allotments to stop.

• If no election is made, all allotments will continue

running after retirement.

myPay

• myPay is still active when you retire. • You can change allotments, EFT information, and

retrieve W-2’s.

Keep in mind…

• All pay entitlements are paid via direct deposit on the last day of active duty. DO NOT CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT!!

• If you do not want your final payments to go to your

current Direct Deposit account, submit a new SF 1199A (direct deposit form) with your NAVMC 11060.

• It’s best to change your account 2 to 3 paydays prior to

departure to ensure a good account is established.

Overpayments

• If you are overpaid prior to discharge, you will be contacted by the Disbursing Office via mail for monies owed to the government.

• Money due to the government that is not returned within 90 days will be turned over to official collection agencies.
