• I have named my film ‘CRACK’. I have named it crack as the earth is cracking apart. And also, crumbling apart because of the humans, sea levels are too heavy for the earth to hold, the humans drill a Wall to protect Countries however it causes earth to crumble.

Equilibrium: It’s the Year 2285. Technology has

improved. And there is two other human colony planets where humans live. Chris Hale (Jake Gyllenhall) is a Scientist living on earth, and is studying earth activity, with other scientists, Nathan Smith (Daniel Craig) and Simon Drake (Chris Pine).

FILM NARRATIVE

Disruption: As Sea Levels rise, the government believe it is necessary to

build a wall to protect cities from the danger of floods. However, Our team of scientists learn that earth will not be

able to hold the weight of the sea and the wall.

The government continue with the plans which causes the earth to slowly crumble. And to be destroyed and left among the stars.

FILM NARRATIVE

Resolution:

The Team of Scientists must gather as many civilians as possible and escape earth, then travel to the nearest human colony planet (Crouton). However, Simon must be left behind in order to pilot the rocket to the Planet crouton.

FILM NARRATIVE

Restored Order:

Chris and Nathan escape earth with some civilians. They reach the planet crouton and begin new lives on the planet.

New Equilibrium:

Chris and Nathan become Public Heroes, and live a new life on the Crouton Planet. The film ends with the Heroes being awarded with Medals and a Close up of them cheering, then fading into darkness.

I have chosen Jake Gyllenhaal to play one of the main protagonists Because, he has played protagonist in Source Code (2011) and The Day After Tomorrow (2004).

I have chosen Chris Pine to playOne of the main protagonistsBecause, he has played protagonist’s inStar Trek (2008) and Unstoppable (2010).

STARS

I have chosen Aaron Eckhart to play the President because, he has played other Dominant parts such as in the Dark Knight (2008) and Battle Los Angeles (2011).

I have chosen Daniel Craig to play another Protagonist because, he has had previous experience in films like Quantum of Solace (2008) and Casino Royale (2006).

DIRECTOR

I have chosen Roland Emmerich to direct my film because he has directed other disaster films such as The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and 2012 (2009). They have been box office hits and earned lots of money. That is another reason why I have decided to choose him.

COMPARING

My film CRACK can be compared to other disaster movies such as Knowing (2009) and 2012 (2009). They Both feature disaster movie elements such as, destruction and the theme of team work. And that is what my film will include as well as themes such as, Self-Sacrifice and the iconography of Science and Technology.

Crack will have a target audience of 12-40 Year olds as it contains a lot of action to keep younger audiences entertained and an older audience may enjoy the science terms and some action sequences. My film will mostly appeal to a male audience as there are some action sequences that females may find unsuitable. We will be filming on set’s for space scenes and scenes inside buildings. I have chosen Jake Gyllenhaal to play one of the main protagonists because, he has played protagonist in Source Code (2011) and The Day After Tomorrow (2004). I have chosen Chris Pine to play one of the main protagonists because, he has played protagonist’s in Star Trek (2008) and Unstoppable (2010). I have chosen Daniel Craig to play another Protagonist because, he has had previous experience in films like Quantum of Solace (2008) and Casino Royale (2006). Crack will have a similar narrative to Knowing (2009) as it features Disaster elements and the world is about to explode, which is similar to Crack as it has the team of scientists escaping earth from crumbling to pieces. I will be using a budget of £250,000,000 this is because of the actors used, also the set pieces, and finally the CGI equipment. I will be publishing my film in Main Stream cinemas across Europe, America and Asia. It will be featured in main stream cinemas because, of the actors as they are in most main stream films.
