climatechanges

We know that theemission ofgreenhouse gasesgenerated by humanactivity is the maincause of climatechange, as stated bytheIntergovernmentalPanel on ClimateChange UN. As ourplanet warmsincreases the risk ofall mankind confrontsa series ofcatastrophicconsequences due toglobal warming.Upon melting ice capsin Greenland andWest Antarctica, many countries couldbe submerged. Achange in the courseof the Gulf Streamcould bring drasticclimate changes andmuch of thebiodiversity could bedeleted forever.

UNDP Human Development

Although the case of long-term risks and manyuncertainties remain, there is a growing awareness of theneed to act quickly, begin to take measures to reducethese risks. The latest Human Development Report ofUNDP, "Fighting climate change: Human solidarity in adivided world," adds a second powerful reason to getstarted immediately: a delay in action would have seriousconsequences for human development in some of thepoorest in the world, places and could undermine effortsto combat poverty. The poorest countries will suffer inthe short term, most of the burden of climate change:increased droughts, extreme weather events, tropicalstorms and increases in sea level. And, as the UNDPreport that we recently presented in Brasilia withBrazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvia, inEthiopia, for example it notes that a child born during adrought year increases your chances of beingmalnourished 35%.

Movie EARTHQUAKE: THE SanAndreas FaultEarthquake: The San AndreasFault, directed by Brad Peyton(Journey 2: The Mysterious Island)(San Andreas), has the advantage ofthis primitive and superficialcharm. It is an explosion almostrelentlessly practical and digitaleffects, which comes to an endwithout one can remember onefairly interesting dialogue of hischaracters; but, yes, with all theupheaval promised.

As its title, the protagonist is theearthquake (or series of earthquakes)that annihilates the west coast of theUnited States, period. In this sense, and if we were to place it at one end ofthe spectrum, the tape would befrivolous side of slaughters of RolandEmmerich Do you remember 2012 -and far from the seventies surroundproductions Irwin Allen (The ToweringInferno, 1974) -the so-called "master ofdisaster" - who aspired to emulate.
