Purpose Encourage and support employees with disability to

develop and implement inclusive practices for people with disability.

Champion the inclusion of people with disability Keep inclusion on the agenda in times of competing

needs and interests Open doors, conversations, open minds and create a

disability confident culture

Personal Qualities

Strong leadership and engagement skills. Strong desire to be inclusive of people with disability. Confidence in relating to people with disability. Be visible and make the time to undertake the role. Understands the business case and how disability

strategies cross all diversity groups and all business units.

Recommended Actions Oversee governance and implementation of the

Disability Action Plan (DAP) Meet with and support the diversity practitioner

/enabler Meet with disability employee networks Raise awareness internally and externally Know how to answer:

What happens when someone needs a workplace adjustment? Who is their ‘go to’ person? Whose budget does any cost come from? How engaged/satisfied are employees with disability ? How do we recruit people with disability?

AND Champions Network Mutual benefit - increasing our collective

understanding about the challenges faced, providing an opportunity to inform policy and decision makers and to generate solutions.
