Director’s LetterIf you’re from the south, then you know all about hospitality. You’ve probably experienced it yourself, or taken part in making someone else feel warm and welcome. That’s what being a southerner is all about, right? I myself am a misplaced southerner. Born and raised, but some-how found my way to the north. (Don’t judge!) And it never fails that whenever I come back, I have dozens of open arms waiting to greet me. For the Futrelle sisters, that’s what Fayro means to them. Somewhere safe and welcoming they can call home. But when Fayro is on the verge of becoming extinct, it’s going to take a feisty beauty pageant, a ruined fish fry, a sorry petting zoo, and a dangerous Civil War reenactment to get it back on its feet. That is, if they can convince Senora Caliente to move her salsa factory to the town, instead of sending her running for the hills when she discovers just how crazy Fayro and its citizens really are. Southern Hospitality is a show about family, friends, and a sense of community. How does that old saying go? It takes a whole village to raise an idiot? Well, you know what I mean. So sit back, relax, and leave your troubles behind. We hope you enjoy Fayro as much as we have.

Cast and Crew BiographiesJILLIAN NOLAN (Director) Jillian is a Theatre graduate from Valparaiso University in Northern Indiana. While there, she established herself as a director and writer, occasionally doing work on and off stage. Some of her credits included Line, Snow White, Two Noble Kinsmen, The Sausage Eaters, Miss Julie, Into the Woods, Noises Off, Romeo and Juliet, Side by Side by Sondheim, and many more. She has also been involved in multiple Murder Mysteries for charity, Theatre Outreach programs for youth, and several collective projects containing Shakespeare’s works. Since moving to Texas, Jillian has performed in Time Square Angel at Country Playhouse and Terror on the Tracks for ACE Theatre’s Spring Melodrama. Jillian is a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Fraternity, and is currently going back to school for her Masters in Education. Jillian plans to establish herself as a professional director here in Texas, and never wants to imagine a day without theatre. “Theatre is my passion. My life. I thank God every day for giving me this passion and drive. And I thank my family for putting up with my crazy antics, as theatre can sometimes consume every ounce of our soul. Not that I mind!”

MARCIA FELDT BATES (Lights) Marcia is a Realtor with Texas Edge Real Estate in Montgomery. Since moving to Montgomery from Sugar Land in 2001, she has enjoyed the Crighton Theatre as stage manager for the 2002 production of Radio TBS, assistant stage manager for The Cemetery Club and Tea House of the August Moon, and on lights for Love Letters. Onstage, Marcia has played Madeline in The Cemetery Club, a village lady in Tea House, Mrs. Shellhammer in Miracle on 34th Street and Lizzie in The Uninvited. Marcia graduated from UCLA and worked for seven years as a CPA in Public Accounting before opening Feldt Personnel Consultants in 1983. After selling this company to a national corporation, Marcia and her husband built a townhome on the Lake. They have three daughters living in Houston, Austin and The Woodlands and are proud grandparents of year old twins!

JAMES BINGHAM (Technical Director)Executive Director of The Crighton Theatre Foundation for the past 19 years, Jim was last seen on the Crighton stage as the Commander in South Pacific. His most notable role here was as Oscar in The Odd Couple. Jim has been involved with theatre for over 35 years in shows ranging from Aida to 1776. Welcome to the Crighton!

GREG KELLY (Set Design) Greg is a founder of STAGE RIGHT and has served as technical director and set designer for Christmas Belles and Love Letters. Greg’s experiences also include several onstage roles, serving as a musical director on several occasions, and many times working the backstage prior to, and during plays, musicals and concerts. He is a mathematics teacher at Moorehead Junior High in Conroe and serves as the Minister of Music at the River Pointe Baptist Church, also in Conroe.

ROGER ORMISTON (Light Design) STAGE RIGHT is pleased to have Roger’s creativity displayed in this show. Patron’s raved over his lighting effects in Love Letters. Roger was in the unique position of being lit by his own design: having recently appeared onstage in Lone Star at the Owen Theatre.

SARAH ROBERTS (Front of House) Sarah Roberts is one of the smiling faces that greet you in the lobby of the Crighton Theatre. She has ushered and run concessions for the first two Stage Right productions Christmas Belles and Love Letters. She has worked the front of house and backstage in many capacities, especially when her daughters, Amanda and Susan are onstage.

JIM TATUM (Sound) Jim is a mainstay at the sound board both here at the Crighton and at the Owen Theatre. Most recently he designed sound for Lone Star. Jim’s eyes lit up when he was asked to furnish Texas swing for this show!

STEVEN WONG (Stage Manager) Steve started his “career” on the stage 35 years ago as a drapery consultant. Since then he has taken on backstage roles (stage manager, sound, props, etc.) to avoid the role of a theatre widower.

JEREMY ANDERSON (Justin Waverly) I started acting when I received a scholarship to a NY Conservatory, SFT, at MAAI’07. Since then I’ve returned to pursue a degree in Theater and Dance from UT starting Fall 2009. I’ve been in Friday Night Lights, Apparition, played Spiderman and done several theatre works. I hope you all enjoy the show and God bless.

RENEE CANNON (Rhonda Lynn Lampley) Renee’ caught the acting bug about three years ago and has been active on stage ever since. The challenges and joys that each role gives her are what keeps her coming back for more! Some of the plays she’s been in include “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley”, “Tea House of the August Moon”, “M*A*S*H”, “Daddy’s D’yin, Who’s Got the Will?” (Sara Lee.), “Miracle on 34th Street” (Miss Adams), “My Fair Lady”, “The Buddy Holly Story” (Vi Petty.), and “A Christmas Carol, the Musical”. In the fall Renee’ had the opportunity to be cast in a small independent film called Junie’s Leverage. Even though filming the movie was a lot of fun and a great learning experience, the stage is where her heart is. Renee’ grew up in Houston, but has lived and worked in The Woodlands for many years. She teaches kindergarten at Galatas Elementary, and loves her job! Renee’ has two sons, Marcus and Mitchell, who are attending college in Houston. They are her biggest fans and they have always encouraged her to step out and explore the world of acting!

CAROLYN CORSANO WONG (Miss Geneva Musgrave) Carolyn has had the privilege of performing on the Crighton stage numerous times. Most recently she was seen as the crusty frustrated director Miss Geneva in STAGE RIGHT’S premiere production; Christmas Belles. Perhaps that role was foreshadowing things to come since she recently made her directorial debut with Love Letters. Other recent visits to the Crighton stage include My Fair Lady, M*A*S*H, and Arsenic & Old Lace; all with the Crighton Players. Carolyn has performed on other stages in the Houston area including ACE and Playhouse 1960 and many in the DFW metroplex. She thanks her guys; Steve, Michael and Harley for their love, support and an occasional sloppy kiss.

DIANE EDGAR (D. Dayva Davidson) Diane is thrilled to be returning to the stage after a lengthy stretch of behind-the-scenes duties, including a recent stint as

the director of ACE Theatre’s Velveteen Rabbit. A veteran of the Houston stage, Diane has appeared in recent productions of Rumors, Nunsense, Miracle on 34th Street, It’s A Wonderful Life, You Can’t Take It With You, Company, Laura, The Sound of Music, and The Great Denver Railroad Scam. She has also directed local productions of Arsenic and Old Lace and The Complete History of the World - Abridged: The Musical. Known “affectionately” (she hopes) as the Backstage Nazi, Diane has also stage managed a number of productions including Death Trap, Done To Death, The Haunting of Hill House, Anna In The Tropics, Dracula, Babes In Toyland, Rainmaker, On Golden Pond, and Steel Magnolias. “A great big Thanks and a special hug to Carolyn, Jillian and Steve for letting a Yankee come play ! Wait - scratch that!

PATRICE KENTIMENOS (Frankie Futrelle Dubberly) Patrice is a native New Yorker who has been involved in the acting industry for more than 20 years. After taking time off to be at home with her two children, Patrice, a newcomer both to Texas and the Crighton Theatre, decided to get back in the game and snagged the role of Frankie Dubberly! She’s studied theater arts at Daemen College and musical theater at The American Musical & Dramatic Academy in NYC, as well as studying privately with prestigious acting, vocal and voiceover coaches in NYC. Patrice has acted in film, video and cable TV as well as acted in and produced live stage productions. She is extremely excited to be involved with the historic Crighton Theatre and STAGE RIGHT and hopes to encourage all to support this fabulous community endeavor!

K.R. KRETZ (Dub Dubberly) Due to divine intervention, and a scheduling error, I have been involved with every aspect of theatre, TV, radio, and film for the majority of my life. Some of my more memorable roles were in It’s a Wonderful Life, Romeo and Juliet, Outward Bound, Anna In The Tropics, Bad Seed, and Death of a Salesman. More recently, I’m known for my portrayals as the villain in ACE Theatre’s melodrama productions. I would like to thank the people of STAGE RIGHT for this opportunity and hope to work with them in the future. To quote Jimmy Buffett – “Yes I am a pirate, two hundred years to late…” Please visit www.krkretz.com for additional information.

MARILYN LEWELLEN (Aunt Iney) Marilyn’s most recent appearance on the Crighton stage was in Buddy-The Buddy Holly Story, where she wrangled with the fallen stocking of a singing Snowbird. She has also been seen in My Fair Lady, Miracle on 34th Street and in Oklahoma. Marilyn is a busy real estate broker, and lives in Spring with her retired Beagle, Rover. A native Houstonian, she considers Conroe her second home.

THOMAS E. LOCKHART JR. (John Curtis Buntner) Tom last appeared on the Crighton stage in Christmas Belles. Previous shows include A Christmas Carol Scrooge and Marley, Teahouse of the August Moon, My Fair Lady, The Uninvited, and his favorite role of Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th St. where he learned that makeup can really change your appearance. Tom is excited to be involved in the sequel to Christmas Belles and to have to chance to work with such a talented cast and crew. This is a funny show and Tom hopes that you enjoy watching it as much as he enjoys putting it on.

RHONDA MCLAUGHLIN (Twink Futrelle) This is Rhonda’s first time performing on the Crighton stage. She has worked behind the scenes and is pleased to

be making her stage debut in this production. Rhonda has been house manager having jumped into that role with STAGE RIGHT’S first production; Christmas Belles. Rhonda has previously helped with props for the Crighton Kidz and for the Crighton Players production of Buddy-The Buddy Holly Story.

CRISTY MULLINS (G.J. Dubberly Waverly) This is Cristy’s fourth trip to the Crighton stage. She has been part of the ensemble casts in the musicals South Pacific and Cinderella. She was also seen as Elaine in the intensely funny Arsenic & Old Lace. Her role as G.J. in Southern Hospitality makes her first performance with Stage Right. Cristy is a trained Challenge Course facilitator and works for Conroe ISD.

SETH RADLIFF (Raynerd Chisum) Seth got the acting bug at Lone Star College where he was in mostly musicals. This is Seth’s first full length non-musical. He loves playing Raynerd and would like to thank STAGE RIGHT for giving him this opportunity to act again.

AMY SOWERS (Honey Raye Futrelle) Amy is elated to once again slip into the boots of Honey Raye Futrelle having played that character in Christmas Belles. She has been seen in numerous productions including Elaine in The Miss Firecracker Contest, Mother in Cheaper by the Dozen, Mary Detweiler in How the Other Half Loves, Mrs. Cratchett in A Christmas Carol, Pamela in The Uninvited and Marmee in Little Women. She has also served as narrator for the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. Recently, Amy was in the film Renaissance of the Dead and will be seen in the episodic internet series Sessions. She also works with Quanah Production’s youth film-making class. Amy is proud to be a founding member of Stage Right and direct its educational wing, Bravo Company. And she just LOVES the Crighton Theatre!

Join Bravo Company!Part of our mission is to educate the next generation of production company personnel. We cannot achieve that goal if we do not offer classes to both youth and adults that allow them to learn about all aspects of theatre production and management.
