All students receiving Protected Health Information (PHI) (aka all clinical students) must complete “VHA Mandatory Training for Trainees” available in the VA’s Talent Management System training (TMS):◦ As a requirement for in-processing/access to the VA for

clinical site attendance◦ Annually if returning to VA for clinical experiences

Students will need to login to the VA’s education management system (TMS) prior to each clinical rotation to ensure compliance with annual review requirements

Students who do not maintain compliance with education requirements for Trainees cannot attend clinical/receive access to student rotations at the VA.

Access both mandatory modules from this website:

Go to https://www.tms.va.gov and click on the “Create New User” link on the TMS to gain access.

Select Health Professionals Trainee…This is for all Clinical VA Students.

Fill In Account Info Online.

Print and Bring Certificates listed below to In-processing Appointment or if Returning to the VA to the education department prior to Rotation
