3 units per trimester = 3 x 4 hours = 12 contact hours per week

4 units per trimester = 4 x 4 hours = 16 contact hours per week

Most of you will be on campus every weekday (Mon-Fri). No classes on

Saturday/Sunday

Earliest class start = 8.30am

Latest finish time = 5.30pm

• We don’t teach every unit every trimester

• We have split the diploma units into an A group and a B group.

• We teach all the A units… the following trimester we teach all the B units … the next trimester we teach all the A units

• So – not all units are available every trimester

• If you fail a unit you may not be able to study it again the next trimester. If this happens you are ‘off pathway’ and your course will take longer

What is Participation?

• Good participation means…• being fully prepared for class discussion, having completed all

required readings and homework

• contributing readily to the discussions but not dominating : making thoughtful contributions

• showing interest in and respecting others’ views

• participating actively in groupwork, pairwork, and online activities

• demonstrating ongoing very active involvement

• maintaining excellent attendance (80%+)

• always utilising consultation times if needed or recommended.
