ABOUT THE PROFESSORS ADRIAN CONSTANTINESCU graduated foreign languages, the main specialization being in English phraseology. Since 1997 he has been a university adviser in international academic programs. He established his reputation as a constant promoter of modern linguistics, being the (co-)author of 9 books. He has also been editor for other books of linguistics and published over 60 papers on semantics and translatology. Head of Semantics Dept., Theoretical Linguistics Society (Romania) and senior assistant editor for several international academic journals. Member of the American Philological Association/Johns Hopkins University. GEORGE LĂZĂROIU graduated linguistics, philosophy and journalism in Bucharest. He also attended university courses in philology (1993–1995) and political sciences (1996–1998), and a university specialization in contemporary English (1994–1997, Bucharest–New York), being also an international expert in mass communication semiotics (1996, New York). In March 1995 he got a university scholarship (Scranton/Pennsylvania). Doctoral courses in philosophy-linguistics (University of Bucharest). Since 1993 he has coordinated a series of university projects of world-wide academic institutions and has taught courses and seminars in applied linguistics on philosophy. He has published numerous books, papers and reviews on theoretical linguistics, philosophy of language and epistemology. Full member of the PSA/University of Chicago.
