Conditioning factors of the skin and hair

The skin phototype is one of the important factors with respect to achieving best results with the minimum number of sessions. According to the Fitzpatrick scale, there are six different phototypes (I-VI), and the fairest skins are those that accept a greater amount of energy with the least risk of undesired effects. Darker skin phototypes are therefore the most highly limiting ones for certain types of emission.

How does elysion work?

The conditioning factors for hair removal will depend on the characteristics of the skin and the hair, on the type of source used, the amount of energy emitted, and the way in which this energy is emitted.

The elysion platform is designed to work in all skin phototypes and all kind of hair helping to work both in the first session, with high density of hair, as in the last session with residual hair.

The way in which it works (static and dynamic mode) allows to work with a high repetition and high energies with a versy short pulse duration, making a big difference with the rest of the devices in the market both in technology and results.

Laser actuation

Laser hair removal works by means of selective photothermolysis which is based on the selective destruction of the hair follicle, respecting, as much as possible, the surrounding structures: the epidermis and the dermis. This is achieved by using high-energy light pulses at wavelengths which are selectively absorbed by the chromophore target “melanin” with emission times lower than the thermal relaxation time of the hair follicle.

All areas and maximum comfort

With a surface area of 90 mm², this handpiece has been designed to work on all kinds of areas. Unlike other lasers on the market, the elysion platform delivers a square pulse, meaning that the energy is evenly distributed in each pulse and eliminating the loos of energy during the shot.

Crystal freeze cocoon medical has developed and patented “crystal freeze”. This is a cooling system for the tip of the handpiece based on the TRT (thermal relaxation time) which is the time required to reduce the temperature generated by the light emission. “Crystal freeze” is a safety system that protects the skin in addition to providing a feeling of comfort. It has a parallel effect, as it prevents the increase of the epidermal heat at the same time that the pulses are delivered, thereby meaning that the area can be cooled during the deliver of the pulse.

This exclusive system works by maintaining a constant temperature of 5 °C at the tip of the handpiece independently of the hours it has been used and the temperature of the room.

Maximum versatility

The elysion platform can works automatically by adapting the pulse length according to the programmed Joules for each skin phototype. There are two available working modes:

Static: delivers high fluences of energy in short pulses. Indicated to work in last sessions and to treat residual hair.

Dynamic (pain free mode): the energy is administered at a low density but in a continuous way within a large application area during a specific period of time (10 cm²). Indicated to treat patients with low pain threshold, first sessions and high density of hair.

The dynamic mode means that it can be used in two different ways: Programming the máximum number of deliveries per square. Programming the light administration time per square.

Intuitive interface

elysion has an intuitive interface that helps reduce the learining periode allowing to get the most profit since the first day.

The device also has visual fields to identify the working frequency (Hz), the Joules delivered in each pulse and the number of pulses per square centimeter, the ms, room temperature, and wavelength.
