Diocesan News for December 2012

The Bishop confirmed 9 comfirmands at The Victory Lutheran Congregation on

11th November 2012 during the Sunday Divine Service at 9.am

Brother Darin Ebenezer conducted a Youth Convention at New Jerusalem

Lutheran Congregation on 9th to 10th November 2012. Almost 200 people who

attended the Convention were blessed.

More than 300 people attended the Miracle Healing Meeting conducted by Rev.

Abraham Charles at the Zion Cathedral on 5th to 6th November 2012.

The Revival Meeting conducted by Bro. Harvard Willard held at Good Shepherd

Lutheran Congregation on 9th November, 2012 at 8 pm was attended by 55

people.

The Alpha Leaders Training Course held in the premises of Good Shepherd

Lutheran Congregation on 17th to 18th November, 2012 was attended by 22

people.

The Bishop declared open the Diocesan Level Vacation Bible School with the

theme “Be Renewed” organized by the Diocesan Sunday School Committee on

23rd to 25th November 2012 held at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre, Pudu,

Kuala Lumpur. About 75 Children aged between 6 and 14 years participated in

this progamme.

The Diocesan Council met the Local Councils of various congregations on 17th

November 2012 in the Lutheran Hall and discussed matters pertaining to their

congregations.

A Study Group of 16 people from Diocese of Gothenburg, Church of Sweden

participants visited the Rumah Hope, Good Hope Congregation, Rumah

Chrestus, ELCM Rehabilitation & Counselling Centre, Bethany Home, Matang

Congregation, Church of Victory Congregation, CCM/CFM office, ELCM

Archives, Lutheran Book Centre, and ELCM Women’s Care and Counselling

Centre in Port Klang and other NGO’s in K.L. from 18th to 28th November 2012.

The purpose of their visit was to gauge and evaluate the situation in a multi

national country and the challenges of the Church . The group also met the

Bishop and discussed subjects of common interest.

More than 200 people attended the launching of Rev. Balan Moses book

“BRICKFIELDS AND BEYOND” by Dato Dr. Cyrus V. Das on 24th November

2012 in the Lutheran Hall. The Bishop welcomed the guests, and congragulated

Rev. Balan for his 2nd publication. Rev. Balan mentioned that the proceeds from

the sale of the book at RM 30.00 each will go towards the “Hands Across

Brickfields.” feed the poor programme organized by the Zion Lutheran

Congregation.

Appointment

Bro. Eric Solomon has been appointed as the Diocesan Departmental Secretary

w.e.f 1st December 2012.
