High Flying Student Production Coming to Middle PACCOURT HOUSE - Stu-

dents, parents and teachers will come together at the Performing Arts Center of Middle Township on March 22 and 23, for a high fl ying production of the musical, “Aladdin Jr.”

The 60 member cast of sixth, seventh and eighth graders will feature three students, Michael Seitzinger in the title role, Vanessa Flemming as Jasmine and Billy Graft as Genie, who ac-tually will fl y above the huge stage during performances. In addition, many of the cast’s mothers are sewing the colorful costumes and their fathers are building the scenery. Several teach-ers are working behind the scenes in various jobs from choreographer to stage manager.

“This will truly be all in the family,”said Kay Aspell, managing director of The PAC who is directing the show.

Aspell also will be making history. After 23 produc-tions as director of middle grade students, starting with “Grease,” she is retir-ing from that role after this show to devote more time to her new theatrical summer camp “Shore (Sure) Produc-tions” which opened last summer at The PAC.

The fl ying students will be taught by a professional Las Vegas company called Fly By Foy which specializes in teaching actors how to fl y without wings. On hand too will be the fathers of the young actors who will staff the ropes that make the harnessed kids fl y through the air with the greatest of ease.

Other playing leading roles include Nik Anagnou as Razoul; Peter Terenik as Jafar, and Ruby Washing-ton, Madison Hawk, Emma Carlson, Merrick Adams, Hannah Rose Zoltowski and Sofi a Lomax as narrators.

Teachers working back-stage include Richard Ster-ling, music director; Dawn Brewer producer; Lee Ann Kane, choreographer; Moni-ca Pedroni, rehearsal coordi-nator; June Camizzi, singing director; Jay Wynn, stage manager, and Dave Haines, stage crew. Staff members

include Drew Bongiavanni, lighting engineer and Bud Morey, sound engineer.

Performances will be given on March 22, at 7:30 and March 23, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $11 for seniors and $10 for students. Call 463-1924.

Suzanne Muldowney to Mark 25 Years of Doo DahOCEAN CITY - Suzanne

Muldowney has been a regular at Ocean City spe-cial events for decades. April 13 will mark her 25th appearance in the Doo Dah Parade. She has also ap-peared consistently in the Baby Parade, Halloween Parade, Christmas Parade and a number of other City programs. These include Martin Z. Mollusk Day, the Miss Crustacean Her-mit Crab Beauty Pageant and Weird Contest Week during which she hosts a Super Hero Impersonation Contest.

Suzanne has a beauti-ful soprano voice. She is blessed with perfect pitch. This makes her perfect for performing “Here It Comes, Miss Crustacean” when the winning Her-mit Crab waddles down a flower bedecked runway and the inspirational ren-dering of “Some Enchanted Morning” when Martin Z. Mollusk creeps onto the sand and attempts to see his shadow. If he does, summer comes one week early to Ocean City.

Since she was a little girl, Suzanne has been enchanted by comic book characters, especially “Un-der Dog.” She is known by many as the “Under Dog Lady.” Suzanne also portrays Super Girl, Shel-ley the Mermaid, the Ice Princess and others.

The multi- talented per-former is also an interpre-tive dancer. She choreo-graphs her numbers to favorite music and has performed them at the Music Pier many times.

An accomplished seam-

stress, the South Jersey resident designs and makes all of her colorful costumes. She has a photographic mind and recently informed me that Trash Buster will be 25 this year, a fact that had completely escaped “The Canned Crusader.” She can tell you what the weather was like in every one of her Doo Dah ap-pearances.

Suzanne sings in her Church Choir, bakes cakes for the Woman’s Club, holds down a full time job and coddles her pet cats. Over the years she has appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, the Howard Stern Show, whom she has sternly lectured and disowned and has been on many regional programs throughout the Country. She is also the subject of a documentary fi lm that we have shown at the Music Pier several times.

Give Suzanne a friendly wave when she performs at the Doo Dah Parade next month. She deserves it.

The Doo Dah Parade is a celebration of humor that includes comic bri-gades, care free individuals, impersonators of legend-ary comedians and over 500 basset hounds. Grand Marshal will be Perky, Peggy King, a singing and comedy star of early TV who has also appeared in numerous movies. Peggy was among the fi rst 100 to be enshrined on the Hol-lywood Walk of Fame.

Peggy will be joined by syndicated cartoonist, John McPherson, whose strip

“Close to Home” is pub-lished in over 300 newspa-pers throughout the world. Also joining the march will be Betty Lambert, an 80 year old baton twirler from Harmony, Pa who will perform at the front of

the Parade with the Ocean City High School Band. For information about the Doo Dah Parade including how to enter, call (609) 525-9300, after hours, (609) 364-4010 or email [email protected].
