Job title: Business Development Manager
Reporting to: Director of Operations
External relationships: Blue chip and SME clients to director level on both marketing and technical teams
Internal relationships: Senior management, senior team, marketing, finance and administration
Department: FareShare 1st

Aim: To develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for FareShare 1st to an agreed annual target
Dimensions:
To research, identify, pitch to and recruit new clients in order to achieve market share, revenues and profit growth
Salary£40k (negotiable depending on experience)
CircumstancesJob based in LondonThe role will require substantial national travel and occasional overnight stays
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as an ambassador for FareShare at all times, representing the organisation at external and internal events, acting as a spokesperson when required
Business Implement a business plan to achieve the revenue and margin targets for
the company Recruit and account manage new clients Manage the relationships with FareShare 1st clients to maximise profitability
and goodwill. On the basis of forecasted business make recommendations concerning the
management and control of stock levels so as to maximise income from any stock
Present FareShare 1st to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls and emails
Responsible for your own lead generation and appointment setting Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation;
credentials pitch; asking questions; solution pitch; negotiation; close
Manage and maintain a pipeline and ensure all sales administration is current
Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation, following FareShare 1st procedures
Keep abreast of issues affecting the sector Ensure FareShare 1st remains proactive and responsive to prospective clients
General You will be expected to spend 50% of your time out of the office in meetings.
Travel is a major factor and is predicted to be predominantly UK with some overnight stops.
You will possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all business opportunities to FareShare 1st and FareShare are captured and explored
You will have individual responsibility for new business, and are expected to self manage
Support is available by the Director of Operations and CEO for complex large pitches and strategies
As a representative of FareShare 1st at industry events and tradeshows, your professional manner and polished appearance will aid your intention of gaining new business leads and contacts
Responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner you will effectively interact with other departments including the finance management and technical teams when handing over campaigns, ensuring you fully and correctly brief in all aspects of the account
Staff Support Support the recruitment, induction, performance and appraisal of the FS1st
team Ensure that line managed staff understand and work towards individual,
team and business objectives Ensure that performance standards are set and monitored for line managed
staff Be a positive role model for line managed staff
Budget Contribute to the target setting process as part of the development of the
annual objectives Submit budgets to The Senior Management Team for inclusion in the annual
budget Manage expenditure of specific project budgets communicating any issues to
the Senior Management Team
Self Development Conduct a continual review of personal performance which seeks to improve
effectiveness both individually and as a team member Assist in the identification of personal training and development needs in
relation to your duties and ensure that these are fulfilled in line with the operation’s business plans
