Millimar. ProbesPRECISION BEGINS AT THE START OF THE MEASURING PROCESS
Probes are the most influential component of a measuring process. Their characteristics determine the quality of the whole
measurement. Different technologies are available depending on the particular application, including: Millimar inductive probes
which are robustly built , flexible in their range of applications and attractively priced; Millimar incremental probes which are ideal
for large measuring ranges and small linearity deviations over the whole measuring range; also Millimar air gages which enable
reliable, contact-free measurements of even soiled workpieces and have a long lifespan in terms of reproducible measuring
results.

Air GagesElectronic Indicating Plug Gages
Inductive Probes Incremental Probes
The Millimar P 2000 inductive probe series features 8 basic typescomplying with different manufacturer standards. Its key featuresare:• Excellent pricing, immediate delivery• Precise linearity• Outstanding electromagnetic shielding (high EMC)• Graphic measuring record supplied free of charge• Rotary stroke bearings design is highly resistant to wear and tear
Millimar incremental probes are used for absolute measurementsin the inspection room, testing laboratory and production environ-ment. They feature long measuring range and high resolution. Theirhigh accuracy is achieved thanks to a precision incremental glassscale. Accuracies of ± 0.2 µm (±0.008"), ± 0.5 µm (±0.02") and ±1 µm (±0.04") can be achieved depending on the type.
Indicating plug gages are designed for rapid testing of the diameter, roundness and conicity of bores and are ideal for serialchecks of parts with tight tolerances. Because no "rocking" in thebore is necessary to determine the reversal point, Dimentron indica-ting plug gage or Series 844D combined with Millimar indicatingunits are ideal for fast, reliable measuring results.
Air gages measure dimensional deviations fast and accurately. They are proven measuring systems both in industrial productionenvironments and the inspection room. Highly accurate with a longservice life, these gages have a low sensitivity to environmentalinfluences. The contact-free measuring procedure minimizes risk ofthe damage to sensitive workpieces.

µDimensionair. Universal, Pneumatic Hand-Held Measuring Device
Automated systems which use air gage probes are becoming morewidespread in dimensional metrology. Air/electronic converters con-vert the measuring signal (air pressure) into an electronic signal.Millimar 1940 is particularly well-suited to measurements withtight tolerances. Its cutting-edge carrier frequency measuringsystem means it can be connected to the evaluation instruments inthe same way as an inductive probe.
Air/electronic converters convert the signals from pneumatic mea-suring equipment (air pressure) into electrical signals. The piezo-electrical measuring system means that the 1941 air/electronic converter can be finely aligned with most of the pneumatic systems on the market. The Millimar 1941 has an analog signaloutput. It can therefore be very easily connected to the measuringcomputer and control system.
Inexpensive - Versatile - Innovative - Robust
µDimensionair is a highly flexible, contact-free hand-held measuring device - ideally suited to diameter measurements. This integrated solution consisting of measuring device and display isvery user-friendly.
• Battery powered - flexible and mobile• Display, air/electronic converter, handle and measuring element
make this device extremely handy to use• Individual components may be combined in various configura-
tions for maximum flexibility• Robust design makes µDimensionair ideal for shop floor and
production environments
µDimensionair is supplied complete with handle, adapter for pluggage and 6 m (20ft) hose. It also features:• Air filter with pressure regulator• Universal bench mount with adapter• Digimatic / RS 232 output cable

The heart of any measuring system lies in the measurement mechanics. The stability of the measuring circuit governs the
precision and repeatability of the measured values that the gage can achieve. As well as precise positioning of the workpiece
being tested, moving parts such as slides and levers are also very important. The guides and precision bearings used make a
crucial difference to the quality of your application. Diamar ID/OD gages from Mahr provide ergonomic solutions for all your
inside and outside diameter testing needs. Millimar gages from standard elements is a comprehensive modular system based
on state-of-the-art elements for all measurements on shaft-shaped workpieces that is robust, easy to use and highly accurate.

Millimar. Engineered Solutions
The ever growing accuracy, precision and productivity of machinetools is increasingly shaping the development of production technology. This is leading to improved stability and reliability in production processes. It also means 100% inspection is no longerbeing performed within the manufacturing process. Nonetheless, the need for testing tools to be run outside the production processis increasing.
The requirements for these (generally) single-purpose measuringinstruments are:
• Corresponding precision in the mechanical sector that represents the core of the measuring instrument
• Reliability, robust design and ergonomic handling for use in demanding production environments
• Probes with corresponding resolutions and linearities for represen-ting tighter and tighter manufacturing tolerances
• Evaluation systems that take into account the increased speed of IT development and are able to condense measured values into statistical data and transfer this data to control consoles for process monitoring
Project planning
Workpiece drawings are used in close cooperation with the custo-mer to define the requirements of the gage in terms of: Measuringtask, test quantity, test scope, test cycle, recording and processing of measuring values, charging and discharging, level of automation, classification, evaluation, calibration, documentation, system environ-ment, system interfaces, special acceptance testing regulations andmuch more.
Design
Experienced designers develop the ideal technical solution for yourmeasuring task, taking into account all the special requirements thatthe measuring instrument needs to fulfil. A part-specific gage is pro-duced based on the high-precision, reliable components in theMahr Length Metrology product program. This includes an extensiveamount of data relating to modules and assemblies for gages thathave already been constructed.
Manufacture and assembly
Individual parts are manufactured and assembled by skilled expertsin our DIN EN ISO 9001 and VDA 6.4 certified plant in Göttingen orin our ISO 9001 certified plant in Providence RI, USA.
Putting into service
Putting instruments into service and integrating them into the production line may be performed along with acceptance testingeither at the Mahr facility, Mahr Federal plant or at the installationlocation. If required, this can also be performed in accordance withthe customer's own procedures and/or internal standards (i.e. measuring instrument compatibility certificate).
