 The following conditions increase the load on the CPU:

o  Adding very large drawings to the building.o  Importing dimensions and exported views from Revit.o  Adding many dimensions/dimension groups to the building.o  Adding many revisions to the building.

Network and Internet

  Network bandwidth of 100 MB or greater is recommended (when usedwith a Server).

  Network bandwidth of 10 MB or greater is required (when used with aServer).

 The following conditions increase the bandwidth requirements:

o  Adding very large drawings to the building which are located acrossthe network.

o  Importing and exporting large amounts of data across the network.

Hard Disks

  Available hard disk space of 5 GB or greater is recommended.  Available hard disk space of 500 MB or greater is required.

 The following conditions increase the disk space requirement:

o  Adding many drawings to the building.o  Adding very large drawings to the building.o  Adding many dimension groups to the building.o  Creating many dimensions.o  Adding many workbooks to the building.o  Storing many projects in the database (archiving to VXF is

recommended)

RAM Capacity

  RAM capacity of 2 GB or greater is recommended.  Minimum RAM capacity is 512 MB.

 The following conditions increase the memory size requirement:

o  Adding many drawings to the building. (An average drawing will use30-80 MB, and a large drawing will use 80-200 MB)

o  Adding very large drawings to the building.o  Adding many dimension groups and dimensions to the building.

o  Adding exported Revit views and dimensions to the building(recommended at least 2GB).

  A wheel mouse is also recommended to enable panning and zooming operations.

Graphics card, Screen Colours and Resolut ion

For best results, it is recommended that the Colour Quality/Windows Colours areset to Highest (32 bit).

Recommended screen resolution is 1280 x 1024. We recommend a 22” wideLCD screen driven by a dedicated video card with at least 512mB and using aDVI input cable.

Software Requirements

Drawing File Formats 

Drawing files using the .dwg, .dxf , .dwf and .pdf file formats are supportedincluding all .dwg file format versions up to and including the AutoCAD 2010 .dwgformat.

NOTE: PDF files can contain both vector (eg. lines) and raster (eg. pictures)components. dimensionX can be set to measure from both raster and vector components of PDF files for measurement.
