what i do…

Jon Dilley5208 N. Flora Avenue,Kansas City, Missouri, [email protected]

I am a results-oriented art director and design manager. My balance of art direction/design/marketing skills has helped me navigate years of high-volume projects with competing priorities, all while putting the organization’s goals first. I can do the same for you.

My 20+ years with the American Public Works Association (APWA) has given me the perspective to develop a “design-for-results” approach, focusing on the value of design as a business tool. I created APWA’s design department and built a vital team that drives evolution, growth and revenue. I have developed processes and improved tools to input, manage and quantify the workload of the design team and assure the tactical and strategic goals of the projects are answered on time and under budget. In 2004, I was essential in the successful launch of APWA’s re-branding. I infused the value of brand-follow-through into the APWA staff and the member-leaders of 67 APWA chapters. I managed the redesigns of chapter logos and websites, and voluntarily educated chapter officers, allowing APWA to continue branding on a local level.

My management philosophy is one of personal growth and education. I have successfully trained and mentored 5 entry level designers and 4 senior level designers to not only serve the organization, but to grow their own careers.

Specialties: Brand/Identity, Design, Art Direction, Print Production, Design Management, Supervision, Adobe CS6

I look forward to hearing from you.

Movin’ Snow T-Shirt Design

Every year APWA produces a shirt to sell at the North American Snow Conference. In 2010 we hosted Stacy David, the well-known hot rod enthusiast and car customizer. I thought it only fitting to pull a page from the Rat Fink play book and do a crazy hot rod image for the snow-fighters.
