Use the @reply method to specifically mention friends in your tweets

• Typing an @ symbol in front of another Twitter user’s name will let them know you’re talking to them

Conserve characters by using url shortening utilities like bit.ly to cut down on the character length of the links you want to share

• Copy and paste your original url into the field, click “shorten”

• Then copy the shortened url by clicking once on “copy”

the Retweet, copy and paste the entirety of the original into you own update field and put the letters “RT” in front of it

• Choose location and option to “Shout” (write short message) and whether to share with other social networks.

Webcam-based conversations: Ustream

• Login to site or create account • Once logged in, at homepage,

users have the option to do a live broadcast, record video, browse through other videos and events, and find and track friends

• Once you create a channel you will have the option to broadcast

• Users are encouraged to create a channel to broadcast through

• Once you click on Create Show option, you can choose a category, tags, and a picture for the channel

• To Broadcast choose Broadcast option and set up microphone and camera settings

• Choose whether to start broadcast or start recording

• Users can also link Ustream with Twitter and/or set up poll for a question

• Go to Groupon URL and fill out initial information such as what city you reside in and email

• You will next be presented with a deal of the day and deals will consistently be sent to your email

• Go to pre-existing 2D barcode application on phone (Blackberry) or download barcode application

• Place phone camera in front of 2d barcode and place code evenly in the center of the camera

• After Camera reads code, you will be taken to URL or other content that is contained within the code

• Choose “Give a Gift” option

• Continue through process as guest or sign up at Starbucks.com

• Invite friends if none are currently fans of the app

• Once a friend is chosen, personalize the gift you send them with message
