These electrical pulses are counted electronically and are termed as counts per minute (CPM) or they are displayed in milli- roentgens per hour (mR/Hr). In SI units, the pulses are counted per second ( CPS) or micro- Sieverts per hour (μSv/Hr). RADAX SM5000 displays radiation level detected in both mR/hr and μSv/hr, simultaneously on its LCD display. The Digital survey meter is based on micro-controller technology and simple to use. Press Power switch and keep pressed till display is on. Display will show reading in mR/Hr & μSv/Hr. Bring the Survey-meter near the Radiation source with the Detector sign pointing towards the Radiation source. The survey meter will display the reading in both mR/Hr and μSv/Hr. While detecting the radiation, the audio buzzer gives out chirping sound. At low level radiation, the frequency of chips is low. As the radiation level increases, the chirps become more frequent. At very high radiation or very near the source, the chirping turns in to a whistling sound. The buzzer can be switched off when required. Press the Setting switch and keep pressed. Features : RADAX DM 5000 is a Digital Handheld Radiation Dosimeter to detect Gamma and X-ray radiation and accumulate the dose received by it or the Dose received by the operator carrying the Dosimeter. With RADAX DM 5000 you can:wDetect and accumulates radiation dose received from Radio-active materials or X-rays. wWarns personnel working in Radioactive environments about radiation dose received.

RADAX DM5000 uses a Geiger-Mueller (GM) detector tube to detect radiation. The GM tube contains ionization gas which generates pulse of electrical current when radiations pass through the gas and causes ionization. These electrical pulses are counted electronically. The Dose received is displayed in milli-roentgens (mR) & Micro-Sievert(µSv). The Dosimeter continuous to accumulate Radiation dose till it is switched off. The last reading remains in memory even when the power is switched off. On switching on once again, the Dosimeter starts counting from the last reading. If required, the dose can be cleared off from memory with help of Setting switch (S). There are only two set of switches- one is Power On-off & Enter and the other is Setting switch (S). The display consists of two lines. First line displays the dose in mR and the second line displays in µSv.

Operation :Press Power switch and keep pressed till display is on. Display will show reading in mR and µSv. Bring the Dose-meter near Radioactive source with the Detector sign pointing towards the Radiation source. The Dosimeter will start displaying radiation dose received. Select option Buzzer On, Press Power/Enter switch to save the setting. To switch off Buzzer, select Buzzer Off option. To switch off the Dosimeter, press power switch and keep pressed till Power Off sign appears. The buzzer can be switched off if required. Press the setting switch(S), Select option Buzzer On and press Power/Enter switch to save the setting. To switch off Buzzer, select Buzzer Off option. To clear Dosimeter reading in memory, press Setting switch S and when Dose sign appears, press Power switch, then press Setting switch. The dose will be cleared. To switch off the Dosimeter, press power switch and keep pressed till Power Off sign appears. RADAX DM5000 operates on two AA type of batteries. It is better to put long lasting alkaline batteries which will operate for nearly 200 hours of continuous operation. Remove the batteries when Dosimeter is not used for a long period.

Features :

RADAX SDM 5000D is a Digital Handheld Radiation Survey meter to detect Gamma and X-ray radiation. It also works as a Dosimeter by accumulating dose received by it or the operator carrying it.

RADAX SDM 5000D uses a Geiger-Mueller (GM) detector tube to detect radiation. The GM tube contains ionization gas which generates pulse of electrical current when radiations pass through the gas and causes ionization. These electrical pulses are counted electronically. The Dose received is in milli-roentgens. The Dosimeter continuous to accumulate Radiation dose till it is switched off. The last reading remains in memory even when the power is switched off. On switching on once again, the Dosimeter starts counting from the last reading. If required, the dose can be cleared off from memory with help of function switch.

There are only two set of switches- one is Power On-off & Enter and the other is Setting Switch (S). The display consists of two lines, First line for Survey meter mode and shows radiation in mR/Hr. The second like displays the accumulated dose in mR.

Technical Features : Detector : G M CounterRadiations detected : Gamma rays & X-rays Energy response : 100 Kev to 1.3 MevRange : 5000 mRAccuracy with Cs137 : ± 15 %Response time : 15 Sec to 20 Sec.Operating Conditions : 0- 50®C 90% HumidityDisplay : Digital - LCD - 2 lines.Battery : 2 nos. AA size - Alkaline.Controls : Touch Switch for Power On-Off/FunctionConstruction : ABS Plastic

Operation :

There are two touch switches on the Survey meter. Power & Enter switch and Setting switch (S). Press Power switch and keep pressed till display is on.

Bring the Dose-meter near Radioactive source with the Detector sign pointing towards the Radiation source. RADAX SDM 5000D will show intensity of Radiation in mR/Hr on the first line. It will show the total dose received in milli-Rontgen (mR in the second line.). While detecting the radiation, the audio buzzer gives out chirping sound. At low level radiation, the frequency of chips is low - which increases and finally turns in to a whistling sound as the radiation level increase.

The buzzer can be switched off if required. Press the Function switch, Select option Buzzer On and press Power/ Enter switch to save the setting. To switch off Buzzer, select Buzzer Off option. To set the SDM500D in dual mode, Press Setting switch - go to SM+DOSE. Press enter to save.

To clear the Dose, go to Dose mode. Press enter. Then press setting (S) to clear dose in memory.

To switch off the SDM 5000D, press power switch and keep pressed till Power Off sign appears.

RADAX SDM 5000D operates on two AA type of batteries. It is better to put long lasting alkaline batteries which will operate for nearly 200 hours of continuous operation. Remove the batteries when survey meter not used for a long period.
