It is the technology that consists of printing your designs on fabric, directly from your computer, with no other additional step.  This means that after you are finished creating your designs, and once you have them in repeat, you can print on fabric just like you print on paper or other medias using a RIP software.  Some ink types may require a post treatment such as steaming or heat setting the print.

Digital can print any design on all kind of fabric, like cotton, poly or silk etc.

The only requirement is that the fabrics to use have to be pre-treated to hold the ink better, and achieve a wider color gamut and quality output.

The Dyes which are commonly used for digital textile inks are as follows: Acid dye Inks, Reactive dye Inks and Disperse dye Inks.

Name of Digital Printing Inks

Types of fibers used

Acid inks Silks & Nylons

Disperse inks Polyester

Dye based inks Not used for any fabrics, used for photography only.

Reactive inks All cellulose based fibers: Cotton, Linen & Rayon

Pre-setting Process : Using 'pre-setting' system / Coating machine / Padding  mangle, appropriate treatment should be done for the fabric before printing.

DTP System : Print it via Digital Textile Printer after modifying colors & Designs with help of Design & RIP Software.

Finishing Process : Printed result has to undergo the finishing process, such as steaming, washing etc.

The image can be printed all over the entire item, with no difficulty.

Colors can be extraordinarily brilliant due to the bonding of the dye to the transparent fibers of the synthetic fabric.

Truly continuous tones can be achieved. Time saving for sampling only.
